a lyrical haiku - humming, harmonizing bees and a field full of lovely wild flowers (that somebody is mowing down - or whatever he's got)
Debra, what in the world is a Kigo? that's okay. I'll Google it.
anyway, that is a very pretty poem.

    Hi Katharine :)
Thank you for your great feedback. I always appreciate hearing your opinion - glad you like this one. The guy in the pic is using a scythe to cut the grass - I referred to him as the 'lawn mower'. He's humming as he cuts the grass - well, in my head that's what he's doing, anyhow!
Thanks for googling 'kigo' - I'm learning as I go!
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Lawn Mower Hums
by Debra White

Great entry for the Summer-Humanity Kigo event in "Haiku Club". Good syllables count and connection between lines. The presentation is lovely. Great imagery of lawn mower and bees.

Good one, Debra. I figure no summer is properly represented without the pleasant hum of the law mower, and when the bees buzz right along, that is really fun.

Great job and a most enjoyable read today. :))

Charming whimsy and clever alliteration--harmonise to the hum--tall grasses tumble. Definitely has a summery tone--an apt entry for the club event. Cheers. LIZ

This artistry, dear one. you have set it out in a pleasing form and it makes me think of summer when my neighbor would start his hummer at 6:30 AM had worked a long shift and craved sleep on Saturday...but oh, the smell was divine...

Just another sound of summer here and some birds can mimic lawn mowers! Our sounds are as interesting to birds as natural sounds. There is an Australian bird called the lyrebird and he can maker camera noises and chainsaw noises! This is a lot of fun Debra, love Dolly x

A beautifully written Haiku that "hums" with upbeat optimism, I love the imagery you've created with this fine work, Debra, the art image you've presented drips with the beauty of simplicity. Well done, blessings Roy

I can almost hear this poem- reminds me of hot summer mornings and the sounds that accompany: bees, birds, landscapers. Thank you for this poem, such a pleasure to read!

This is an exceptional summer haiku poem. I love the smell of grass being cut and I can understand why the bees buzz and harmonize. I do too. Sending along with very best and blessings for your day, Sally XOs...

I love it! This fits Sunday so well when all the neighbors' lawnmowers were "humming" all over. I like that you move us from the artificial hums to the natural hums of the harmonizing bees!
