Out of death, life births in the cycle of the seasons and the renewing of life begins, sadness turned to joy in your few words here, I await the spring here, love Dolly x

Gypsy,
Yes, we can wait for Spring for the flowers to bud from the leftovers from the previous cold weather seasons. Poor man's fertilizer is the snow that covers the grounds.
Nice presentation you created.

I have to give you a 6 for this one, Gypsy...
It is just beautiful - both the imagery and the sentiment blew me away.
Nothing more to say apart from 'Wow!'
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

That is a profound statement. We always grieve over death. But in the case of the dead flowers, it leads to the fruit. And the fruit has the seeds that will become a new plant. God created it to have that perfect balance so that the death, as in the dead plant matter, actually feeds the ground ("last gesture of love") and leads to new life.

What a lovely emphasis on the renewal of life after death. I read your author's notes...does this mean that you are dying? I know, by the same author's notes, that you want us to stay neutral, on the subject of death, I just want to know, are you dying? The title reminds me of something a friend of mine used to say. That she'd rather not have cut flowers bought for her, because they are just dead flowers.
Anyway, this is a beautiful tribute to something that is going to happen to all of us sometime...we are all going to die.
On that happy note, have a nice night,
Jesse

Hello, Jesse, I am not dying, I'm healthy and hope to live a long life. I'm just trying this unknown type of haiku for fun. I like how japanese see death as a natural thing not to be feared. They often use nature metaphor. It's very zen. It's much better than the idea of hell. Thank you very much for your review and feedback. I will make a note in my post that I'm not dying. LoL
Have a lovely night. Where do you live? I live in Pasadena, california.

I am so glad you are not dying!
I live, in a small town, called Eureka, California. It is up in Northern California by the Oregon border.
Thanks for the Gypsy hugs!
Take care,
Jesse

I lived in northern California for years. I moved from Spain to Stockton when I was 16 years old. I moved to Sacramento in 2001, and moved to Pasadena, southern california, in 2018. It's cool that we both live in california. Same pacific standard time. Good night, Jesse. :)

Yes, it is cool.
Have a good night, Gypsy.

Gypsy:
The theme of the jisei haiku reminds me of the line in Bette Midler's song, "The Rose" where she notes something about "...is the last seed that in the spring becomes the rose!" (Sorry, I have not heard the song in quite a while.) Thank you for sharing this jisei haiku with us.

This Jisei haiku is a powerful piece...signaling the imminent death of the flowers. The presentation of the poem is richly enhanced by the dark background and images that accompany the piece.

Gypsy, this is the first time I've heard of of a 5/7/5 Jisei Haiku. I felt sad when read flowers embrace, waiting for Death. And joyful when I read---
earth in last gesture of love when the seedlings wait for spring.

There is a good feeling in your words. The flowers may have died but they lead to renewal of life as they embrace the earth. Your words bring nature to life and show how she begins again. I find this haiku form interesting.
