When we first experience sorrow it can be quite devastating as our world falls apart, but we learn to cope in time, it only made me stronger, fine words here, love Dolly x

The First Bite of Sorrow Is a strong entry for the 20 syllable poem contest. Sorrow is the subject we like to relegate to the moments of necessity, like the one depicted in this poem. Bereavement, however, is an ongoing challenge that accompanies each of us through the ages and stages of our life. The real question for us is how is it working for us?

This 20 syllable poem conveys deep emotion and uses vivid, well chosen imagery to trigger a deeply emotional response in the reader. The tone of the piece is somber and the theme, one of sorrow and pain. The artwork accompanying the piece is powerful as well. Great work.

That fully describes how terribly a mother suffers in losing a child. But the "his body" could also be the father's so the relationship is not clear from the words here. But the title shows us how the realization of death is that "first bite of sorrow." Best wishes in the contest!

Losses are not a good thing, but they do make for good emotional contest entries. Thank you for sharing this one short one with us. I wish you the best of luck but I need more than 20 syllables for a review. LOL
