Exciting! When we finish our plans; achieve our goals in life we develop and grow stronger. Reading about famous people reveals that they were determinid to finish their plans and persevered.

So, you live in South Africa and you paint. Do you illustrate your writings? What do you like to paint? It sounds from your response to me that you are an achiever.
It is so interesting, talking to people from far away lands. What is your weather like today?
Just interested. Sorry if I seem too inquisitive.

wow, Kim, thanks. The writing IS fun, it's the time it takes reviewing everyday to promote. I enjoy reading the work of others, it's just some days I don't have time to and I fall behind. I do appreciate your reading all mine. That was very nice of you.

You did a good job all month with your poetry for the club, Pome Lover. Thai finale sums up your book and your feelings well. Good job with the nonet style. I enjoyed following your poems including this one. The image is a good pairing. Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Am chuckling, Jan, it WAS fun but I just got behind, and didn't have time, sometimes to review others' to get points to promote, so my feelings were mixed, but it was a challenge which I enjoyed.
I thank you for your most kind words.

Hello Katharine.
Your reverse Nonet is well structured and easy reading. Being the unverbose critter I am, I don't do well with challenges and stay away from them. I read a news story, hear a whisper, or close my eyes, and think... then I write.

well, sir, I'll tell you. I doubt I'll ever do that one again. It wasn't the poetry, it was the time it took to review enough not to be paying so much to promote, and still it was not an inexpensive venture.
Anyway, you write what you write, well. Stick with it.
I more or less write "by the seat of my pants", as it comes to me.

I agree with your writing philosophy.

You're reverse nonet looks great! Great work on your poem a day project, and you finished in fine style. I can imagine you are exhausted. I tried it one year and finished, but it wasn't easy. Plus it was a strain on the old bank account. It's easy to run out of funds. Best of luck. Have a great Sunday. judi

Fabulous!! I'm so glad you stuck it out in spite of your busy schedule. I enjoyed reading your poems and look forward to more poetry from you - after a well-earned brief respite, of course!
Thanks!

thanks so much Susan. I wonder if anybody ever does a second one of these things??

I don't know, but I did stumble across another challenge on another site for the month of May. I'm still trying to decide if I'm up for it! It's on Medium.com - the group is Poets of Medium - they call themselves POM poets
-
do you have to promote like on FS?
That's the bugaboo
-
I don't think so, and they pay for poems that are good enough for the site to promote, but not much.
-
hmm
I may have to look into that. thanks
-
Here's my profile and page on Medium. I don't have much up there yet. https://susangabriel.medium.com/
And here's another poetry site where I've posted things and I won first place in a contest over there.

thanks so much, Carol. I truly feel like my FS friends kept my motor goin. Do people really do more than one of these things??

Wow! What an achievement. I tried it once but fell by the wayside after a couple of weeks. The communal aspect and the mutual support are what makes it all possible. These are the things I most value about FanStory.

absolutely. I feel I have made three especially thoughtful and neat friends this past month who encouraged me as I had gotten behind for awhile. And I agree with you about FS. Where else is there the opportunity to visit with, learn about, and enjoy the writings of people from all over the world?
Thanks for reading, Tony.

Well, My goodness. what a compliment. I don't know that I have ever caused a crumpet splutter before. I consider that quite an accomplishment and I do thank you very much for the lovely 6!!
Best wishes to you, too, and your family.

thanks, Katherine. I appreciate it. Granddaughter coming today for a visit. Bringing her new beau. Just found out Friday, so am meal planning, straightening up outside after the storm, and inside, too, although my desk is hopeless. Can't believe I forgot a couple things from the grocery, gotta dash back this morning.
Thanks again for your good wishes and same to you!
