A self-help book takes 300 pages to convey what you say here in 16 lines. Wise words indeed--extra credit for notes emotion vs instruction. Well done.

My hand must have slipped! So sorry--thanks for tipping me off--I upgraded it. (I've gotten a few finger slip reviews myself; I've never mentioned it but glad you did!)

"Though some may be of disaster,
with consequences that frustrate.
The lessons we learn can help us,
before leaping: Investigate!"
I really enjoyed the conclusion and reasoning of this poem. After reading this poem I read your foot notes. You are a deep thinker and I benifited from your comment about learning lessons from past mistakes, otherwise the memories are just painful emotions. Very good poem. Keep sharing your unique gift.
Sincerely,
Julie @ earthlover

We learn as we grow older. That's the idea, anyway. At least, we are more capable of controlling our emotions. Your poem seems to be about leading with the head instead of the heart. There certainly needs to be a balance between the two. Look before you leap!
Using a monorhyme structure has the effect of laying extra emphasis on the end words and underlining the rhythm of the piece. Nicely done.

That was a bit of finger trouble on my part. I had intended five beautiful stars and have now amended my review accordingly.
