I enjoyed your fun club challenge, Aussie. You included several clues that make me believe you are describing a tv/cablebox/dvd player. I believe the 'eye' that you described in the automatic eye that one aims the remote at to turn it on. Partner one and two are connected to the tv, and the fact that the light is too much. I like the way the microwave is described by its smell of scrambled eggs.
