Great job with the allusion to Shakespeare in your poem. I wasn't quite sure of the Old English form in this line:
"If earthly power doth then show likest God's" (like unto?)
I always keep praying for the country and remember that God is in control like it says in Proverbs 21:
"The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes."

actually the original says liketh :) I printed it out to go by, though I totally left the last part and went my own way because none of it applied.
I just worry that God may be letting us do ourselves in. He showed us the way, and many have shut him out.
Thanks for reading my stuff!! and commenting.

Whoa Katherine! Wouldn't you know I'm out of sixes. Why don't they give us more? What a profound declaration. Would you consider letting me use this message for a post in my blog? It's something that more people should see. I would totally understand if you don't want to. It's part of your book and you need to benefit from your work. In any event, those who can't get behind this message are willfully blind and corrupt. Thanks so much for such a great work. Have a blessed day.

Tom, certainly you may. I am very flattered.
Thank you for the lovely compliment!!

Thank you Katherine. It will probably be next Friday when I post it. My blog, if you're interested, is Wilderness Blues, Ramblings From the Great Land
Thanks again.

I'm embarrassed to say this (I guess), but I have never even seen a blog, much less had one. do I just type that in? :(
-
yes, you can type in Wilderness Blues or T B Botts or Ramblings from the great land. Any of those should take you to it. I've been doing it for a few years. I've covered all kinds of topics from baking a custard pie to Triden gum. That one got a lot of view from the Russians. I guess they thought I was going to spill secrets of the Trident submarines. If you go back in the archives, there are over 500 posts to look at. Some are better than others. Please don't be embarrassed. If my publisher hadn't set up the blog for me, it would never have gotten done. To this day there is so much I don't know about computers. When I first started writing my first book, I wiped out entire chapters. I'm still not sure what I'm doing most of the time.
-
had to laugh about the Russians. I'd probably write something about mah jongg, and the Chinese would think it's
a secret code.
OH, by the way - you have a good recipe for custard pie????
-
I do have, I just don't have it here right now. If I don't get it to you by Monday, mention it again and I'll see if I can find it. Nothing special, but it sure tastes good.
-
please don't go to any trouble. and there's no rush.
thanks

This is so good! You've really taken Shakespeare's words and expertly molded them into a poem and message for today's leaders! I especially liked this part:
For leaders ruling over others' lives, consider this:
Would thou abide by that thou would enforce?
I would give this a six, but I ran out. :-(
Thanks for sharing!

Great comments, and I like your re-do of the Merchant of Venice speech. It would seem that Biden is interested mostly in appealing to the progressives in his party. Equity is not fairness. I'm hoping people will catch on to what he's up to by the midterms. He isn't uniting the country, but causing more division by catering to favored groups. judi

absolutely! I think the dems know that in '22 they've had it, and they are doing everything in their power to get done all the things they want done before then. And I don't know if we can undo them. AND I heard yesterday, that even if we undo some of them, dear old non compus mentus Biden can veto what we change. How 'bout them apples?
-
That's good thinking. Sounds like how they operate. judi

This plea for Honor is valid and with the change of a few words mirrors The Quality of Mercy's plea for mercy by Portia, in the courtroom. Surely there must be some in that Party that is able to discern the evil that is being presented.

you would think, so, but I haven't seen or heard any proof of it.
Yes, we memorized that speech in 10th grade when we studied The Merchant of Venice and other Shakespearean plays. I loved it.

Funny and witty with a squeeze of satire in the middle. Politicians are like domino pieces one word and their credibility is thundering down the river.

You are getting there! and without dropping the quality on the way! Remain of good heart, all will soon be done!
I think it must be extremely difficult to be a ruler in these troubled times, and everyone who attempts it has my support - until they fall too far off the straight and narrow path.
