How horrible!!!! I've not heard good things about Astra but if you're healthy it shouldn't be a problem. I'll say a little prayer for you. I believe prayer never hurts. Thank you for sharing.

I hear your frustration about getting vaccinated. At first, I tried the same with our state appointment system which was a disaster, I got kicked off 10 times. Then I found my town was giving shots and had a signup sheet and waiting list. It took a week to get my first shot and now I am fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.
Good luck and hopefully it will work out for you.
Hang in there.
Regards,
Mary

I don't know. I just got my first shot of Pfizer on Wednesday; made an appointment on Tuesday for it, it took about a half an hour; they want you to wait fifteen minutes after the shot to make sure you are not having a reaction. My second shot is already booked for May 19. The only side effect from the first shot was a sore arm for about a day. I did everything at the Walgreens about 15 minutes from my house. Pretty simple. estory

Iza, have faith and remember you did the right thing in getting vaccinated. Travel will be easier even if you have to wear a mask or even if we have to wash our hands several times a day! The right choice!

You did a good job, Iza, recounting your attempt to get a vaccination. It does seem complicated when it shouldn't be. I hope things work out well for you.
Thanks for sharing.

Well Iza, you are actually lucky to be living in Canada when it comes to getting vaccinated. There is a lot of confusion on date and times over here in the States. It will improve with time and experience though...as with anything new. Bless you. Bob

I haven't even had the first dose yet, but there's little danger of there being a breakout any way, it's been under control for sometime now, beautifully written, Iza, well done, blessings Roy

well, that was your decision and you kept after it.
This chile's not putting that experimental agent in her bod.
What in the world good is it to have it if you still have to wear the stupid mask, social distance , etc?
I wish you good luck with them.

How frustrating! Yes, I'll pray that you get both vaccine doses before your summer trip and that you won't have any bad reactions!!
We had some complications here, too. We weren't old enough and all our friends who are younger got their vaccines before us. When we were eligible we both both appointments. But the next day, someone called and CANCELED my husbands - for no reason. He kept checking every day and actually got an appointment two weeks before the original. Go figure. Sigh.

There a sense of tongue-in-cheek and some gallows humor in this narrative: "apparently my missing thyroid it's not part of the problem" Even in the cloaked humor, some will identify with a similar situatiom. This may help some to be able to laugh, at least a gallows laugh which is better than none.
