I see where this is going. Did you know that we here in Canada just passed a very controversial Bill C-16 which is all about the protection of transgenders?
The Canadian Senate passed Bill C-16 by a 67-11 vote. The bill adds prohibitions against discrimination on the basis of gender identity and gender expression to the Canadian Human Rights Act, amends the criminal code to extend protections against hate speech and allows judges to take into consideration when sentencing whether a crime was motivated by hatred of the victim's gender identity or expression.
We are awaiting Royal Ascent before it becomes law.
It's the same everywhere. Crazy!

Lord help us. The crazies rule.
-
Their flag is also flying beside our flag on Parliament Hill.
-
well, I guess you arent kidding.
I'm sorry, but that is really too much. have there been any protests about that?
-
I have not watched the news. You won't believe this, but my son in Michigan told me about this Bill. I am trying to get in touch with my MP to give him what for. It's useless sometimes. Just so overwhelming.
-
It may be useless, but then again, if more people like you let him know what you thought, who knows. 'Good for you.
I have written to Ted Cruz and Gov. Abbott, and get TONS of automated responses asking for money,
-
well, the 2% of the population should be ecstatic.
-
I'll keep trying.

-
Unbelievable that 98% are ignored.
-
there's some expression - cannot think of it, about the loudest getting the most attention. sadly true.

I like your poem but I'm not sure what a "fish" refers to - Are you referring to transgender issues? I think it would be awful to be a fish because a bigger fish can eat you. Yes, it's always best to be what God created us to be!

Yes. It's just an analogy. But there are people out there promoting it to young children in schools!
-
Sigh. Is that reverse evolution??? Crazy.
-
evil interfering, I think

Our grandmas group is praying for God to intervene in the school curriculum.

This is very good! And you are very brave! My granddaughter decided a couple of years ago to become my grandson. It's been a hard thing to accept. In fact, I started writing a poem and got several stanzas into it before I got to the point where I couldn't go on. It needed a resolution and I didn't have one.
I want to share it with you, though. I'm not sure I could ever post it.
LGBQTransplant Me
Today you told me something new
You said that you don't feel like you.
You said you'd like to let me know
that you would like more room to grow.
You asked me if I'd please transplant
you since today are you a plant.
You asked me please to not be sad
that you're no longer my wee lad.
I was surprised, I must admit.
to hear that you are going to quit
your current status as my son
to now be a chrysanthemum.
I am confused and know I lack
the understanding and the tact
to keep from asking questions that
might chafe -- I am no diplomat.
I wonder when you thought of this?
Before today? Was I remiss?
Have you considered thoroughly
what this, your choice, might do to me?
I see your stoney, stoic face.
I know it means you won't embrace
my logic and my feelings, too.
So tell me please what bothers you.
Oh, is that it? The word I said?
If "Choice" is wrong, then what instead,
what should I call this paradox
that you prefer green leafy stalks?
I hear you say, "It's not a choice.
I've alway heard that whispered voice
that called out to my inner me
telling me to set it free."
But this is what I didn't see,
so would you please enlighten me?
I don't know how I missed the sign
that you'd want gender reassigned.

Oh, Susan. How hard for you, and I have to say, how sad.
It is a very "feeling" poem, and one, trying to understand. Has "he" come to see you since? Have you had a chance to talk to him?
If you should publish your poem, you can't take it back, so, I don't know. It IS a very good message and response. Wow.
I hope my poem didn't offend you. It is really meant to be against those trying to persuade them. How old was your granddaughter when she decided?
-
Oh, your poem didn't offend me at all. I feel the same - I can't help but feel "he" was somehow influence by others. He was 14 at the time, and is now 17. The live in Washington state and I'm in Texas, so we've only been to visit once in the past three years. The other complication since Jan 6 is that both my daughters started badgering me about being a Trump supporter. They have become very liberal in the past few years, and now it's created a chasm. I'm hopeful we'll be able to bridge it again, but it's just difficult right now.
-
You know, it just makes me sick that politics has divided families. My granddaughter's major at Texas - she graduates in May, is government and public policy. She wants to teach it, I believe. She says she's bi-partisan, but she voted Democrat - EVEN THOUGH she doesn't like Biden. Her mother - my daughter, thankfully is a conservative, but they go round and round and it's difficult - as you know.
Somebody has got to stop this indoctrination of kids in schools!
I hope you and your daughters will come to an agreement on the fact that you're family and love each other.

A bit out in the left-field, I believe with the craziness of becoming whatever you want regardless if it is feasible. A child changes their mind from day to day... even hour to hour about things. The world we live in is spinning like a topI... I hope it doesn't fall off.

You are right about a child changing his/her mind, as do teens, and to me it is criminal that parents have no right to intervene if their child suddenly decides they want to be the opposite sex.

Great job with your rhyme and meter in this. I agree this is ridiculous. Kids shouldn't be allowed to make such momentous decisions on their own. I believe it's a campaign on the part of the LBGT whatever crowd to recruit new members. They've got books and other propaganda tools to use. Leave the kids alone. The fish analogy was a good one. Great work in the contest. Just a few days left! judi

thanks. I hadn't realized I was so far behind. that is just chp.22!! don't think I'll make it.
And I think you're right. good ole LBGTXYz - less than 1% of the population and they think they rule the roost.
-
My parents were Democrats, but I don't think they would recognize their party were they alive to see what it's up to. judi
-
You can do it. There's still time. judi
-
mine were, too (Georgia) and I agree. But I never was. My birthday fell on voting day and I voted Republican, much to their chagrin - as my dear granddaughter is doing today.
-
gonna try, if they'll accept several each day.
-
You can post two a day, I know. judi
-
I will have to listen to what Biden's going to try to put over in his speech tonight. judi
-
right!! thanks for reminding me.
I HAVE grown to this chair. got to get up.
-
great. thanks!

You're welcome. judi

LOL! 'Some screwed up autocrat is telling children that
What they feel they are IS what they are.' - Really?! I've heard it all now!
Your poem is well written and your feelings on the matter come through SO clearly ;) Ludicrous!
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

yes, they are telling boys- young children -if they feel like they are a girl, or a girl, if she feels like a boy, well sure the surgeon will make it so - and this is REGARDLESS of their parents' wishes. In kindergarden and grade school children are being told this - along with the "fact" that America is bad, that white people are racists. It has gone way beyond nightmare. This is the absolute insane stupidity going on here.
-
Some people are absolutely crackers... children change their minds from minute to minute.
Insane stupidity is right.
-
and if you'll pardon me, scary as hell.
