Your "three-legged stool" is skillfully-written and deeply spiritual, firmly based on Biblical tenets. Lines 1 and 3 resonate with me, since I pray a lot and I give; line 2--I don't fast, but I realize its benefits.

Your poem is very interesting and well-written, Dove. Your lines read well, the flow is smooth, the internal rhyme works well, and the image is fitting. Thanks for the notes. I did not know this about the Catholic religion. Your poem has a great message--esp the last line--doing something good should be done without thinking about getting something in return.
