You would need to be continually on your toes with these youngsters. It's incredible how much energy they have. How long will you be working with the littlies?

Hi Judy :) I think I'll be in this year group until the end of this week. My colleague should be back in work on Friday. I think the plan is for me to be in year4 (8-9yrs)
Best wishes, Debra

Pants on fire, too, as you run through the day. I remember this time and how fulfilling and exhausting it was. I did it for eight years. Bless you, dear. Sending you my best today as always,

Too cute! I can imagine working with twenty five, four year olds is most exhausting.
Congrats on your substitute teaching and keeping up with fine entries into the NaPo project.

Oh my - that is a "baptism by fire!" I'm amazed you can keep up with the daily posting even with working with pre-schoolers. They are adorable but it is a time of lots of frustration. Super picture, too!

I didn't know that saying...."Baptism of fire!" But l know you are English and we have some language differences. It's a great expression very well used for your situation. Hah hah hah.... I just have one 3 year-old, I can't imagine having twenty five 4 years-olds...my goodness, no wonder you are exhausted LoL (laughing out loud)
Well done. Good syllables count and connection between lines.
I have one question....
(twenty five four year old's --
Baptism of fire!)
--the dash after old's -- means that you paused, but the apostrophe after old means possessive of what comes after, so I would get rid of the dash.
I got a new job
with twenty five four-year-olds -
Baptism of fire!

well, how are you holding up - aside from being exhausted, that is?
Cute picture - good pick.
Did you say, earlier, that he wasn't coming back and you may have them for a good while? Or did I make that up?
And then you have to go home to a busy household. Well, my hat's off to you. I'm sure you do a grand job there, too.
Good luck. Stiff upper, and all that. :)

Hi Katharine :)
I think you made that part up! My colleague is meant to be returning next Friday, but that all depends on how her recovery is going. I could be covering for her for longer! Tiredness aside, I'm actually enjoying it!
Thanks for your feedback. Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Oh, wow! I can identify with this so strongly! Once, years ago, when I was teaching in a Primary School, I was asked to stand in for the Early Learning Centre teacher for half an hour while she attended a meeting. Mostly, at that time, I taught 11-year-olds. Her meeting overran by a quarter of an hour. It was the longest fifteen minutes of my life! LOL
