I like your unusual approach .. it may not actually point out the issues wildlife is facing but these two are iconic figures of the savannah.
You describe a characteristic of each animal making the narrative interesting.
Lions are big cats and just like our domestic cats, they prefer to hunt at night when it's cooler.
Also being a predator hunting consumes lots of energy ..so after a kill they sleep a lot to retore and conserve energy for the next kill.
In addition the male is expected to protect their territory and the pride from other male lions on the prowl.
A male Lion has a lot of responsibilities.. usually he can keep his crown for 3/4 years max.
Then a younger lion will challenge and kill him ..sometimes he manages to excape but what awaits him is a life of loneliness and a unfitting death for a king .. I wrote a poem about that..

Hyenas and lions are life time rivals ..
they eat the same food so when the occasion occurs both will kill each others cubs..
it's their way of keeping the competition sustainable for both.
WildEarth safari guides check on their hyena den often ..they all have names and the cubs are adorable.

I don't think it's a wise thing for hyenas to wake up snoozing lions. Interesting factoid that it's the female lions that bring home the bacon. Good luck in the contest.

I doubt they do, but my guess as a pack they might attack an old or injured lion.

Nice job with your poem. It reminds me somehow of the lion king cartoon. The photo is nice, with a nice font and background and your notes are instructive. It definitely has a jungle nature vibe to it. Keep it up!
