It looks SO yummy.
I love regular pecan pie, and I
love Ritz crackers, so I'll bet
this is a treat.
Love the poem/recipe combo!
Blessings...

Great job with your verse in this one, and it sounds so easy to make this unusual pecan pie. It sounds delicious, too. Sometimes cooking will help us take our minds off the unpleasant things happening around us. The Ritz crackers add an unusual twist to this recipe and I'd love to try it. I bet it is delicious. That's a good warning to refrigereate leftovers. It probably should bet the rule for a lot of leftover pie pieces, especially those with eggs and a whipped topping. Excellent and yummy sounding. judi

I think you can be praised for your originality - not easy to put a recipe into a poem, I am sure. And, as we are all individuals, you can feel free to write whatever you please! It's not in my food diet other - but it does look good!

Well, I believe that is a first lol. I don't believe I have every came across a connection with poetry and cooking (of which I love to do). One thing for sure if you have a love for both, how sweet this is!

Thank you, Jennifer! I do, indeed, though rhyming a recipe is a challenge!
Thank you so much for your kind words and the very lovely 6!

Hi Katharine.

I had to read your post after the review you gave me. I like the poem with the built in "recipe". The picture of the pie made me swoon. I am not much of a cake/pie eater. I do have a bowl of ice cream every night before bed. HAHAHA

This poem sounds delicious. I enjoyed reading this rhyming piece, and the image you included provided a sensory texture to the piece. Welk done, thanks for sharing.

Well, there is a contest currently running for a one line 'poem.' I enjoyed your poem and recipe. I like the use of rhyme but the bp, sug, van kind of take away from it. My grandmother had a recipe for pecan pie that had no pecans it--instead crushed Ritz crackers--yuck! Never made it!
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Hey Katharine - Just keep doing what you do... You'll never please everyone all the time. As long you are enjoying what you write, so what?!
Besides, you have at least one happy reader right here!
This recipe poem is going on my book shelf for future reference as I'm definitely going to be making this one - it sounds delicious, and I won't be serving small portions, despite your advice LOL.
THANK YOU for sharing ;)
Best wishes as always, Debra

laughing. big slices are better. If your kids like nuts in things, they should like it. Neither of my gals(d & gd) likes nuts in cookies, pies, fudge - groan.

One out of three likes nuts - so extra large portions for Shaun, Katie and me! LOL

Nice job. What an original idea of putting a recipe in a poem. It is quite funny I should add. I like the humor of being tired listening to the news that you wrote something of your own. Very bold actually. Those with a mind of their own deviate from the norm in the most brilliant way. It often paves the way to great genius. Bravo!

That's me - genius in the making. Kidding, of course, but thank you for your very kind comments! As this contest "book" is supposed to have a poem a day (with promoting, of course) when I'm out of an idea or think I've inundated people enough with my views about what's going on - at least for the moment - I stick in a recipe. The last one I posted only had 2 lines of poetry and it was brought to my attention by a reader, thus this effort.
Many thanks again for your remarks. They are much appreciated.

Well, this is one of my favorite pies so I am going to Bookcase it. It certainly looks yummy. I'll have to add some of these ingredients to my grocery list again so I can't make it for a few days. Thanks for sharing.
I'm with you on the news bit. It is actually making me sick.

Yes, the news is making me sick, too. Now the Dems are rushing to make DC a state. I don't know if we can last until 2022.

They are banking on getting things done quickly because they know what will happen in 2022.
