It is a pity how human nature has not learned to accept each other over the centuries and how we fight the same wars over and over again to try and bring balance to our everyday life, a fine and poignant write, love Dolly x

Truly a moving poem. The social injustice and senseless violence against minorities in this country at any point in time is bad. However, resorting to these acts in the midst of a serious pandemic (instead of coming together and helping one another) doesn't speak well for us as a human race, at all. In the Chauvin trial, there really weren't any winners, but at least justice was served. There is that. Your words hit the bullseye on that one. Great job and kudos, to you for bringing truth to the world!

A very well-written poem on a topical and well-chosen theme. Hopefully the tide has turned, and that each person of whatever race, skin colour or belief system will be entitles to justice. An interesting link back to Martin Luther and Easter. Well done.

Such an interesting poem. I like when people manage to handle current events in poetry. You did this very well. My favorite part is the second stanza: "In a time of racial insurrection..."

Marie, I give you a 5 for your sincerity and kindness, but black lives have mattered for years. What happens the most often but the press barely covers it and certainly doesn't make anything of it, is blacks killing blacks. It happens everyday. The blacks have been given every opportunity to do with their lives what they want. The real reason for their "plight" is most of them don't know who their father is, much less have any male guidance. what they need is the responsibility of being a family and staying a family.
For our schools to be teaching our kids that its bad to be white, and America is racist, is criminal and the teachers should be fired. America has given the blacks opportunities for education, jobs, etc. America has bent over backwards to help them. Al Sharpton just likes to stir up trouble and believe me he does. Blacks and whites were getting along fine until the Biden and his string pullers got into power. Now racism is all you hear and I, like most fair minded Americans am sick to death of hearing it. It's not true, but then the media goes right along with whatever the trouble makers say.
I'm sorry, but this thing has gone too far. To keep on bringing up slavery and reparation is nothing but pseudo fear mongering by the left because they don't have any idea what they're doing, which is absolutely ruining this country!
The rest of the world is laughing at us, and out enemies are chomping at the bit because in a few short months we've gone from a strong, healthy, prosperous nation to a weak, mealy-mouthed SELF DESTRUCTIVE one.
You don't see whites shooting each other by the hundreds every year. Somebody needs to tell the blacks that if they want to shout black lives matter, then quit killing each other.
And just for the record, white lives matter, too.

I was so happy--and relieved--that Chauvin was found guilty. He IS guilty!
Your poem is very skillfully and creatively composed and deeply meaningful. Other similar trials are pending. Murderers belong in prison. God help us to turn the tide. Racism is a disease!!

The clock is ticking -A man who used excessive force...
Today history plots a new course

African or Hebrew
Negro or Jew
With changing history
We must learn to live in commonality

You did a great job, Dove, expressing your thoughts and feelings about the unrest that is plaguing our nation. Your words flow smoothly, there's good rhymes, the color scheme works well, and the message is clear.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan
