Beautiful portrayal of Martha and her desire to please Jesus. It is also in my nature to serve so I understand this. Great job of capturing the emotions one might feel before the arrival of a most important guest of honor. And who could be more important than Jesus.

As all of us have gifts, Martha's was one of hospitality, and she laboured in her adoration of the Lord, as much as Mary who sat at Jesus' feet, Jesus loved Martha, and would not begrudge her, He would have been aware of her sensitive labours. Beautifully written, as with the second son in the saga of the prodigal son, Martha is significant as the sister of Lazarus, the last miracle of Jesus. Well done, great story, good luck, blessings Roy

Excellent interpretation of what Martha could have been feeling. Why wouldn't you want the best for any guest visiting to dine? You would, and this is the ultimate visitor. While he may not have cared what Martha's house looked like, or how much trouble she went into preparing this dinner, he'll know that Martha cared enough to give her best for him. And because of this he cared to give the best of him to all of us. Good luck in the contest.
