Everything Martha does shows her pride in her service and her love of the Lord - I find when we are in awe of someone and serve them with a willing and happy heart it is blessed - it changes the world around us and brightens the very skies. This is lovely and tender-hearted...as well as well-written.

You're right. It is a lovely story, and so utterly human. You have taken the bones of it and fleshed them out beautifully with fine detail. One can just imagine Martha rushing hither and thither, making sure that everything is just as it should be and that she has done all she possibly could to welcome her important guest.

What a lovely portrayal of the life of Martha. I have always admired her character, as she lovingly server her Master and his friends. In her heart, she probably wanted to be like her sister and sit at His feet.

Dear Author, do not worry, there are many Marthas in this world, and they are sorely needed, If there were no Marthas on this planet, the work of feeding a family would never be done. P.S. there is only one thing that you need to fix to make this post authentically biblical.
Potatoes were not served in Israel, until modern times when they could be imported from the places where they are grown.
