Nice piece of poetry having lucid as well as perfectly matching the theme phraseology, enchanting flow throughout from the beginning to the end with lovely rhyming scheme, and beautifully depicting the poet's fun and trouble as well.
The last two lines are particularly noteworthy.

Oh how I relate to your clock striking poem. In simple rhyming words you take me into my dreamland. That clock sometimes disturbs a fanciful meander but there are times when it rescues me from a nightmare.

So right you are friend, Jay that this grandfather's clock striking chime might better be replaced with a mute button.
That said I do enjoy the meaning that it is not only aurally disquieting, it also signifies with insistence the passage of time.
A most enjoyable read today, and glad to see you keeping well and writing excellent poetry. :)

I love a grandpa clock. The nice part for me now, is I have lost much of my hearing and nothing disturbs me during the night, not even a clock that is striking. Have a blessed weekend.

This is a great rhyming powm about a clock. It is sweet, imaginative and at the same time a little intruding, right? But it is marvelous that its sound starts to feel like a gentle call for a loving friend...it's time to sleep, it is another blessed night...

Yes, memories come back in dreams and the clock(time) seems to rule our days. We do sometimes hope we could ignore the passage of time, so stop aging. Good use of metaphor.
