Those cupcakes do look inviting. I enjoyed your fun poem, and yes, it' a recipe. You 'doctored up' just plain cupcakes. No worries about the box mix or canned frosting. Your presentation is good.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Sounds delicious. Everyone uses a mix these days. There are a lot of creative things you can do with them, though, as your recipe shows. The filling makes a great addition for this. I always use a bought icing. They're good. I have to ask, where's the poem? though. judi

Hello Katherine,
I love a good recipe, and whilst this seems to be a packet mix, I don't care because I love cup cakes and the filling certainly sounds delicious!
Thanks for sharing - another one to add to my 'things to bake' list :)
Best wishes as always, Debra

it's an easy one kids can help with.
Some one said, where's the poem? I said, the first two lines. ;)
do you wish you hadn't signed up for a poem a day for a month????
-
LOL! Yes I do!! I'm a couple of days behind and will now have to make double daily postings... I'm working full time, the kids need feeding and keeping alive and my brother is also on a TV show this week so I'm not missing that, no way! (He's a chef and competing on Great British Menu on BBC2!)
How're you finding the challenge?
-
Well, good for him! and how great to watch him. I wish him luck - hope he wins!
I love "keeping the kids alive." Too funny.
About running out of things to say. pretty pitiful when I resort to recipes
-
Well, sometimes recipes are the best things to read... especially when delivered with heart and humour :)
-
well, I'm glad you said that, 'cause I've got "anudder." :)

5 stars because a recipe doesn't take all that much effort or thought to write. Also, reading this recipe was shear torture because it tempts me to violate my diet. So why should I praise torture? No pain means gain. Pain means no gain. Pain now or much more pain later. Cheers. Jeff

sorry, Jeff. Wore myself out with all my thoughts, yesterday. decided on something light (meaning message) and pleasant for today.
How about a good salad? do you eat them? :)
-
A good salad, yes. Without lettuce, please.
-
without lettuce. ok
I'll send you my favorite in your messages. You probably know it.

Thank you for the recipe. I copied it to word and I have saved it in my documents. I'll let you know if and when I finally get around to making them. I'll have to order the stuff first. LOL

Hope they like them. Ralf, are you still not going to the grocery store? I've forgotten, is it your health?
-
No, I have my groceries delivered. My health is fine. Just not taking any chances.
-
well, I hope you get what's on your list and not substitutions you don't want like I did when this business first started.

Yummy. I adore your cake recipe and can taste those cupcakes after reading your post. I do very little baking because I don't want to eat naughty things! A fun post, love Dolly x

oh, Dolly. No naughtiness? I'm afraid Will Power passed me by ages ago, but I'm lucky, for some odd reason, my weight stays down. However, I went to a cardiologist yesterday for first time and he may have other ideas.
Thanks for your always nice comments!

I like this chapter... Kids will love this poem and they can make chocolate cup cakes based on this poem.
Kids will enjoy making cup cakes and especially the icing. They can be very creative.

I'm so glad. The part with the eggs and cream cheese is for the filling inside that gets baked, not the icing - just to be clear. One lady thought it was for the icing and she was worried about not cooking the eggs.

I don't know if this is a poem for kids, but I don't know a kid who wouldn't revel in delight at having those cupcakes sitting before her or him. I see this is a chapter in a poem book. You are the third person I've reviewed who was in the middle of such a poem book--and two of them wished they had used more foresight before undertaking such a challenge. It looks like you're having some fun with it, though.

I wish I had, too. I didn't take into consideration the daily promoting! that's the bugaboo. But, as long as I'm in it... of course, my title gives me a lot of leeway. (good thing)
Having fun and also venting - big time. Decided I'd better get back to the lighter side.
Thanks for checking in.
