Wow! I would have liked Jim, what a clever SOB! A good way to throw your own party and catch up with friends. I'll be sure to seek those pieces out. I thought you could ask for reviews, just note votes, hmm, guess I was wrong.

Someone else brought that up. I hope you're right. I decided find out:
Hi Tom--I need clarification on the rules as regards fan notification of repromotions-- the system only notifies fans at time of release--I've accrued many fans since I first posted what is meant to be a three-part annual memorial post--am I permitted to divulge the titles of the promotions pending?
-
Alas, Just got from TOM:
No, sorry, that is not permitted. Notifications to fans can only be sent at the time a work is posted (by the site) or when using the Treasure Chest Revive certificate (where fans are also notified).
-
Silly! I?m glad you confirmed though.

I understand that you are continuing a birthday celebration for a dear friend who passed away. I look forward viewing your tribute, when it is reposted.

Bless you for giving this nod to Jim... Again I am caught unaware of site rules! I get notifications from writers I have "fanned" that a previous poem or prose post has been (I forget the word)--revived? This just happened to me yesterday! I went to view her post she brought forward...and found I had reviewed it the first time around. I was unsure as to the rule...so I let my previous review stand. Food for thought! --Karenina

Revivial is a one-time special case on your two-year anniversary where the system notifies fans.

Okay! It was Eternal Muse....and it was a "revived" post....she had to have bought a "Certificate"???? Wonder what that costs! I still didn't think I should...or could....just delete my Original review.. How do I find out what reviving costs? I did get notified... Sadly she got no return on reviving investment from me... Huh!--Karenina

So saw this query at the same time you shared his answer... So when I write something and notate it was inspired by you... (Like I did!)-- Or when I've said in author's notes "Stack form inspired by so and so, and Gove the poem title... That's okay? Must be! I've done it! Strange.... Theoretically I could read and review your three part !Memorial...write about it...and refer readers back to your work by title in my author notes? My head is going to explode! --Karenina

I am blissfully ignorant! Probably stomping on rules I don't know exist! My eviction notice may be coming...
Ignorance of the law is no defense! Lol...Karenina
-
As I recall, the revival is a one-time complimentary perk offered at the second anniversary.
-
My head has beaten yours to the punch.

No shocker there! I'm just sitting' here waiting for "Alex Hiemer" to move on in! Sigh.... 😉. Karenina

What a cunning but clever man is/was this Jim, but our cleverness will catch up with us one day, and may wound our reputation, but Jim is impervious to anything now. Well done Liz, blessings Roy

Liz,
I will be on the lookout for your resurrected poem and tribute to Jim.
So sorry for the loss of this special friend.
This is a finely written piece and I appreciate your kind heart showing through every line.

I remember that you started to gather all those same friends even after Jim's passing but last year was the pandemic so I guess you didn't ? It's so good of your to remember Jim and his patriot/birthday!
I didn't mind your notices of repromotions - it helped me to get extra $ for posts of yours that I might have missed.

Last year I gave notices for those who opted in, then I heard that we aren't supposed to "solicit reviews"--I decided to check:
I decided find out:

Glad you asked. Keep me posted!

Alas, Just got from TOM:

-
Okay. Good to know! Thanks!
-
Yeah--but it sucks for me!
-
When you use a certificate on a post from two years (?), everyone gets notified. I know because I get notified of the repromotion and find to my dismay that I already reviewed it.

This piece, Memoriam, seems to want us to read those other articles you wrote. There's no rule against your asking people to read your other articles. There's a rule against asking people to vote for you in a contest.

Liz,
I don't know that it would be inappropriate to ask for reviews in this way. I think it's more like when you bug new readers to go by and see stuff (through messages or replies) or when you specifically ask someone to look at contest entries, etc. Could be wrong - I'm wrong a lot.
Thanks!

Is this a different Jim, that the one that was scared of vaccination? Anyway, I know from your last post that you guys have this habit of celebration his birthday post-mortem. I think you can still do it, maybe over zoom?

Chuck was the one who claimed he had an allergic reaction to the vaccine--you are correct about the memorial party tradition for Jim--great memory!
