Well ... this is disturbing. One assumes that this is a description of murder, especially if the procedure (unspecified) kills a 9-month fetus. Legally, it's murder unless the procedure accidentally killed the fetus and was not intended to do so. If it was intended to do so, and did, then this is flat out murder, legally. Really disturbing is the name, date, and details on top of the ultrasound image. If this is "real," and the inference is "true," then this should be turned into the authorities for investigation.

What is the author hoping to achieve with this entry? What point to prove here? Is this an admission of guilt? Of blame? Of shaming? Of sensationalism?

Posting of ultrasound images with names attached is a violation of HIPPA regulations, and can result in legal prosecution. Internet not-withstanding. I suppose one can post one's own images if one wants to, but I am unable to ascertain why anyone would post their own image with words like these attached to it.

If this is proving a point that abortion is murder, very well. However, abortion does not, or should not, ever take place legally when a fetus is nine months old. Everybody knows this. So what shocking point is being proven here?

Wow, that was a lot! I took the image from Fan Art Review, where many of us get art to use for our writing. I did not know that there was a name or a date associated with the ultrasound picture because I am 100%, totally blind, and only knew that it was a picture of an ultrasound.

The poem is about any late term abortion. While I am pro-choice, I believe that once a fetus is able to live outside the mothers womb, it is murder. That's just my belief, and I do know a mother who had a late term abortion. she had this abortion after she had the ultrasound, found out the babies gender, picked out a name for the baby with the babies father, then aborted in another state. As a result, the father was so distraught that he took his own life.

I don't know if you are in the United States, but late term abortion is a very prevalent political topic currently here. I am against this, and my poem is meant only for giving people something to think about. My hope is that, if people think about late term abortion and think about this poem, they will also be against it.

I am happy that this poem was disturbing to you. I hope it is disturbing to everyone. Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and comments. Hugs and blessings to you.

This is eight words that tell a complete story. It seems this woman was thinking of abortion, but decided to have the baby and put it up for adoption.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healhy.

Nice job. I really like the sonogram. It is so beautiful and complements the poem well. Nice contrast as well. The rhyming is good too. You got the 8 words right as well. All the best for the contest!

My goodness. Not easy to read. But certainly thought-provoking. No opinions or judgements are offered, this is very clinical. The reader draws the conclusions, and must think through the ethics of this 8 word clever but sad poem.

This is abortion at the raw end when a termination takes place there is much emptiness as we play God and think we can kill life at a whim. So sad, but sometimes it is necessary. Poignant words here, love Dolly x

Yes. Although I am pro-choice, I believe there needs to be a line drawn. Thank you so much for your comments and review. Hugs.

My blood runs cold just thinking about this late stage abortion. If this goes through and it's decided that it's okay to kill a baby, then there is no more hope for this country. We've already hit rock bottom. When those people who vote for this abortion, I wouldn't want to be them on Judgement Day when they stand before God and try to explain themselves.

I won hundred percent agree with that, although I am pro-choice. I think a line needs to be drawn. If a fetus can live outside the mothers womb, it's murder. Some may believe it's murder no matter when, but that line, to me, is definite. Thank you so much for your review and comments, and for your six stars. I humbly appreciate it. Hugs to you.

I didn't get this at first, but then I did, and I agree the horror of baby sacrifice has never been put aside, a little life pays the sacrificial penalty for our sins, whereas one man paid it all. Babies have nothing to pay, save the chance of a life fulfilled. Beautifully written, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

This is a sad poem for sure. Your 8 words tell a dark side of abortion possibly. You did a good job with the prompt. Maybe I'm mistaken and it was a stillbirth, but the words clinic procedure tell me otherwise.
Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

This is a very powerful piece in such a short form that just comes and kicks you hard in the stomach. The suddenness of 'then none' really grabs you.

Thank you. It hit me when I wrote it, so I am appreciative that you had the same reaction. I am specifically talking about late term abortion, which I am against, even though I am pro-choice, but I won't get into that. I humbly appreciate your review and comments. Thank you for reading. Hugs.

You?re welcome. I thought you may have been referring to that but didn?t want to make assumptions, not knowing what led this piece to be written.

This eight-word poem, After Nine Months Deliberating, has the proper word count and stabs the reader in the heart. I've heard of late term abortions, but had no idea they could be done in the third trimester. I can only see my granddaughter now and how that could have been taken from me and the world. Big six for the flattening statement. I am crying now.
