Very nicely done and what a charming subject. I see the validity in calling them an army of ants. They resemble the parades of soldiers we are used to observing. What an enigmatic group of beings. I think if I had a second career, I'd pick the study of ants.

They are interesting to watch, but a nuisance in the house. Thanks for reviewing.

You did a great job, Yvonne, with your lento. It reads like a story in a poem. Your rhymes are super and work well to tell this fun story. Your end rhymes are great, too. The picture is perfect. I like that you told a complete little story about those pesky ants. To do seem like half-crazed shoppers when they crawl onto to something they want. I like the way you wrote about the ants taking food home to share. I have seen really long ant trails doing just what you wrote. This is a great example of a double lento.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

They are fascinating little creatures as long as they're outside my house. Thank you for this most wonderful review.

This double lento, Hard Workers, has a happy side to it, as the observer takes in the ants foraging. Then, I consider the pantry and its owner being infested with ants. This awareness of ants is what exterminators study as well.

I recently had my house sprayed for them. We get hit every year with them. I like watching them - - - outside! Thanks, Bill.

Hello Yvonne,
This is a fun poem of the hard working ant
with excellent rhymes, front and back.
Ants are fun to watch, even Thoreau would watch for hours, of course, there was nothing else to watch at Walden.
ant
retraces its steps, soon
an army
Well done.
Best wishes.

Thank you. I like to watch them, too, as long as they're outside. Very interesting. When I see them in two line going and coming, it reminds me of an old cartoon where they are passing each other, saying, hi, george, hi, frank, hello, bill, and so on. Cracks me up!
