This is a cute and clever story with a charming picture to go with it. I enjoyed the fun of it and feel children will like it as well. Best to you in the contest.

Thank you, Equestrik, for your lovely review of my children's story and for your encouraging remarks. I had to hunt around for the right pooch picture, but it was worth it!

This is a great children's story with a message of acceptance. Some the words - not a preponderance, but plenty - are big words that children might not understand. But then again, this puppy tale is meant to be read out loud!

Thank you for your great review, RetroStarfish! Yes, I was also concerned about using some three-, four- or even five-syllable words in a children's book; but since I had to use mainly "p" words, I also considered the possibility of parental participation, and proceeded with that plan. Perhaps the young people will pick up some new words ;-)
I appreciate your thoughtful remarks and critique!

You've done a great job of finding so many words starting with your chosen letter, "P". It is a fun story. I suggest that it might be a little confusing for children because of words that they might not understand. That may or may not matter in this contest. I wish you luck.

Thank you, Judy, for your excellent review and thoughtful critique. I was also somewhat concerned that I was using some longer words that were of a more advanced vocabulary level, but I also hoped that hypothetically, adults would be reading the story to the children, and that they might learn new words in the process. Often, it was hard to find simpler "p" words to fit the story, though I tried. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

-Great choice of artwork
and a good story to go with it.
-You did a good job with
all of the words beginning with 'p',
including Mr. and Mrs. Plopper!
-Their house is certainly filled
with pups of all kinds and names
to go with them, making it a
pleasant, but peculiar place to live.
-It is well written with good
description, names, and a good ending, too.
-Good luck in the contest.

You did a really good job with this story and it makes for a wonderful entry to the contest. 'P' is a nice word to go with and you did it justice as well. The story had its precious punny moments as well :-)

Best wishes for the contest and have a good day!

Thank you, Aaqib, for a great review and for your encouraging comments. I had started with the "D" word, to write about dogs, but didn't get as far. "P" seemed to give me more mileage! I'm glad you liked it. I don't usually write children's stories, so it was a lot of fun.

The Pooch Party certainly delivered on the "p" words, but the names just got to be too much after awhile and it made it hard to stay interested. The pug in the picture is awesome.

Thank you very much for the good review. I had not considered the effect of having too many "P" names in the narrative, but I appreciate your constructive criticism. I'm glad you like the pug -- I thought he was adorable, too.

The length you have written while maintaining your letter choice is absolutely incredible! Very cute story and image, I am sure kids would love to read it.

Beautiful and not pitiful story and I like the subject too pups and pooches :"Paula Pup was pleased to see her people, and particularly pleased at their pleasure. Mr. and Mrs. Plopper petted her profusely and Paula pressed into each of them with pleasant little licks, as they proudly paid particular attention to each pet, pooch by pooch." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.
