You're welcome!

This is so lovely and Ricky is beautiful. I love beautiful boys. You did very well in rhyme and rhythm. If this is a true story, that makes it ever sadder. That is what comes of leaving children without loving parents. Fine writing and a picture I must copy.

Thank you. I am happy that you found value in the poem and my choice of photo. By the way the story is factual fiction.

This is enjoyable reading. Mentioning people that most of us know draws us to keep reading it over and over a few times. I laughed at him being named for Ricky Riccardo. I felt sure it was going to be named after Ricky Nelson. Great job!

Thank you. A hidden fact is that his mother was a 'I Love Lucy ' fan.

Dear nomi, this is a pretty straightforward fictional story told in rhyme with good rhythm and flow, but what I want to know is what did you intend to imply by saying, that Ricky was left on the church doorstep, by his parents?

Many of the people who have gone on to be superstars have come from traumatic backgrounds. The drive to overcome unhappy childhoods many times become the motivators for success. This is one of the reasons Ricky has a hole in his soul, as he feels that his parents did not want him. This poem came from a story idea that I may still write. In the story, Ricky's mom is white and his father a black Army deserter, who goes AWOL after learning of the pregnancy.

Pink, NOM1338? You should have made it blazing red cause for Pretty Rick to pen, "To my every fan and friend, this is the end." It is sad for the life he had don't seem half-bad. So red it should because the devil got it due and you know who. Thank you for sharing.

Maybe he is not done yet.

This was such a good and engaging story in poetic form, that I thought it was real. The artist with a hole in his/her soul, who tries to fill it with sex, drugs and booze is one that is all too common. You could actually say this is based on a true story and would be correct.
Well done.

Thank you, it was definitely inspired by the many train wrecks I have personally witnessed.

Your poece tells a story, a fictional one, through the creative description of the rose and fall of a popular performer. It resonates with the story of many real life performers who have faced that roller coaster ride. Well done.

This is an exceptional poem with a very rhythmic meter that flows quickly and tells Ricky's life story from beginning to end. Even though I could see it coming, his death gave me a bit of a shock at the end. I could almost hear a song in this poem as I read it. A very nice read. I enjoyed your poem very much and hope to read more.
