Great writing. It is very descriptive, with a story told from childhood to adulthood till death in few but poignant verses. It's bold ending caught me by surprise. Bravo!

"Pretty Ricky" works as a fictional story of an abandoned kid who became another maladjusted star. It's believable because stuff like this really happens, but it's got its own unique spin.

I like the picture... The man look cool but the poem is a sad poem. Although it is a fiction, it could be real in real life... There were cases where a singer committed suicide... and... an actor did the same thing.

How very sad that such a talented, good man should ever feel he should have to say goodbye as this man did. This should open ones eyes to see the hurting souls around them. Pretty Ricky was trying to fill a hollow hole within himself, as are many. Very sad but well written poem.

While your story line here is very good and I think we can all recall reading real life stories like this, making it very well thought out, it just seems the rhythm is off in some places and would read better if smoothed out. And did you mean "moms" named him? Maybe I missed something here. Otherwise, nice story.

While you noted this is fictional, it is not uncommon for someone who had looks and talent to be unable to handle loneliness and fame.

I enjoyed the piece, and the story in it, a lot. I understood what you tried to do with the piece and it makes a lot of sense. The one thing that stood out to me though was that some of the lines seemed too 'busy' and broke the rhythm of the piece. I'm afraid I don't know enough about poetry to tell you something more specific, although I could give an example. With this sentence " Folks thought it was cool, but it caused him pain.", I think if you removed the word 'was', it would 'flow' better. (Can't think of another way to explain it)
Hope this helps. I think with a few tweaks it's a six star piece .
