This poem, Goodbye Pretty Ricky, is a dynamite poem that just needs a little bit more. I feel the first half built a great story, which then skipped to the end with some convenient rhyme. I hope you consider giving this one some more meat on its bones. There's a story here.

It is going to become a story without rhyme. It is going to be a narrative born from a beginning that I witnessed when I was stationed at Grand Forks N. Dakota. Thank you for your review comments.

Even though this is a fictional poem, I am sure your readers could replace Ricky's name with the name of another performer who just could not find peace in spite of their fame and fortune. Great job - I was engrossed right from the beginning.

Your words read like a mini movie and your tell a story here in poetic form. The reader feels for this individual and it is possible it could be a true tale. Excellent use of words that creates feelings.

You have certainly made use of the imagination God has gifted you with, and I was actually convinced he was an actual character, yes, they say inside of us is a hole that needs to be filled by someone, I think, personally, it is Gods sized, but not all think that. Beautifully written, Blessings Roy

Nicely written. Even though this is based on a fictional character it could happen. With no guidance from parents a child is left without an anchor. Many talented people have this sort of lire because society throws them in to situation where they are tempted to make bad choices. It is not unusual for a talented performer to be unable to fill that hole in his soul and he dies of a drug overdose or suicide.

I feel this happens more often than not. Fame and fortune doesn't make people happy or content. Having God lead your life does. Some people never realize this. Thank you for sharing.
