Portia, This is a very well written and very true poem in my eyes too. You used the words very well. It made me think of in the morning at church when we sing what a blessing it is. Thank you for sharing and for my lovely flowers. It was the most beautiful vase of flowers. I haven't gotten roses in a long time. Thank you so much. I love you dear friend! Teri

Hello poet.
I like gospel music too. It's so energetic and after the bible says...make a joyful noise unto the lord.
Excellent lines of 10 syllables each.
Your rhymes are strong and the flow is great as well
This was a joy to read!
Take care

What a lovely poem. It's hard to fit in unrelated words and make it seem organic, but you did a beautiful job. Your poem reads as a love song to the music, and your joy and enthusiasm radiate through it. Your unabashed joy makes the poem that much more fun to read.

This is a beautiful poem written about beautiful music. Gospel music is always joyful, happy music with uplifting words and foot-stumping, hand-clapping rhythms that make people smile. I especially like thoughts expressed in your last two lines..."It gives me comfort," and "trust in God." Best wishes in the contest.

That was really lovely. You've used the words so well in this poem, they aren't forced to make it work, but slide in naturally. This is an excellent contest and I wish you loads of luck! :)) Sandra xx

Beautiful poem about the impact of Gospel music on one's life. You have an almost musical flow to your lines. "My emotions high and gracefully bold" is a perfect line that captures well the impact of Gospel music. Excellent poem that touches the soul.

Dear Mystery Writer,
We are told in the Bible that our singing edifies the congregation members and rises as a sweet sacrificial aroma to our heavenly Father. What could be better than that?
I appreciated these lines so much:
It gives me comfort I'm not scared to sing;
I trust God will hear me; to Him - I cling.
Thanks a bunch!

with highlighting
the required words.
-Effective imagery and rhyme.
-You show your love of
gospel music very well with
singing, the choir, and
"lyrics - derived from a musical roll."
-A good closing couplet.
