Unfortunately we cannot control other people's thoughts and if someone will not forgive then in a way it is their loss. Forgiving is very freeing and we all make mistakes, bide your time and hope you are forgiven. A fine write, I could identify with these words, love Dolly x

I enjoyed this piece and think it does a good job of portraying the regret the narrator carries for (what seems to be) ruining a relationship. For me the only sentence that maybe could use some tuning is this one " Years of wasted, hollow pride,
let love surround again.". I get what you mean but maybe I would have used a semicolon between the two parts of the sentence to emphasize letting go of the past emphasis on pride and finding love as an alternative. It's just a personal thing, so please take it with a grain of salt.
