I guess that empty glass vs the one untouched tells the story. Things just didn't work out. It happens. I guess there was no chemistry, not even enough to bother with the wine.

Can't decide whether you had a date who didn't drink, or she/he left so fast the drink wasn't touched. Either way, not a good date, I take it. However, it does seem to have been impressive, for you to have written about it. :) Just kidding, and better luck in future.
