A gentle and thoughtful reverie, appreciating life and beauty with gratitude. Your poem is well written and smooth-flowing, taking the reader to the scene with you. Well done.

I enjoyed the descriptive stanzas about happenings on the lake as well as it being a place where you come to reflect and heal. I think the only thing that stood out to me (and this will be a personal preference, so please take with a grain of salt) is that I felt the intertwining made the piece a little confusing. I think maybe doing all description first and then going into the internal impact it has on you or going into how those specific descriptions or contrasts relate would elevate the piece more. The lake, as I understand from your piece, can be a place of work, a place of pleasure, and a place of healing all at the same time and I think that triality is something to explore more.
I'd enjoy seeing how this piece evolves!

Hello Boogienights.
Your poem is an interesting retrospective of the past year describing the disappointments and sadness that we've all experienced. You use the emotions of fear, disappointment, and eventually joy to express your feelings of the journey.

Peace with contentment is a great gift. "Godliness with contentment are great gain, for we brought nothing into this world, and can take nothing from it. And having food and raiment, let us therefore be content" 1Timothy 6:6-8. This scripture immediately came to mind, because you weren't rejoicing in your own cleverness, but in those simple things that bring joy, they are gifts that are given to reflect on true value. Someone once asked me why I believe, instead of something profound to say, I simply said, "look around you, open your eyes, do you think these things are an accident?" Beautifully written my friend. Blessings Roy

Very serene. When we are in a place of quiet contemplation is seems our very souls are lighter...and we open our minds to the beauty far beyond that which we see in front of us. Love your lines about reaching out to others in need... Kindest motivations can bloom from peaceful reverie!--Karenina

When we are fortunate enough to live where there is one of the Great Lakes, the possibility of beholding so many lovely scenes, is huge. You create good imagery of how wonderful a feeling can be cast upon us when we meditate and watch the waves roll in. My inland sea is Lake Ontario.

Hey girl,
This poem is perfect for the retrospective I'm trying to create - with poems from writers all over the world - with poems starting from March of last year through now. I'd love to use it in the book if you'd allow me?
This is really cool. TY!

Beautiful piece and lucky you. You have found a place where you can find yourself and evaluate your life. I have my favorite spot also, It is my deck. and when the weather permits I am out there writing. It is my private place, I have nature with my privacy. Again a beautiful work, congratulations.
