Well written, my fellow poet! My father was a POW in this war, so I felt a very personal connection to your writing. Truth is truth and you spoke it here. Good luck in the contest!

This is a great piece of writing. All you say is true. I was a child of 8 when WWII broke, so I was old enough to remember the horror of that war. Two of my brothers fought, one in India and one in Europe. I remember the day it ended and the day my brothers came home. Your story meant a lot to me and I thank you for sharing.

Yes, if America had not joined in the fight against Hitler, who knows what Europe or the United States would look like, and Israel may not have become a nation in May of 1948.
You are off in your war history though. Adolf Hitler and Otto Adolf Eichmann were the organizers of the Holocaust and the "Final Solution", killing somewhere between five and six million Jews, not thousands. I hope you will adjust your poem to reflect these true numbers. That's just the Jewish numbers, they killed many more including those aged and infirmed, deemed mentally retarded or ill, and anyone opposed to the Fuhrer's theology--Christians, gypsies... little children and babies. The carnage list is long.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally
Update: thank you. I have adjusted your rating. :)
