This is an interesting story about a childhood adventure, the respect for life, and the idiosyncrasies of animals. I had a dog that liked shoes -- one per pair. I did notice a couple of little things to clean up regarding language.

How the pup had survived was anyone's guess? -- Not a question. Just use a period.

an infinity for the love of moccasins. -- either "an affinity for moccasins" or "an infinite love for moccasins"

to either keep then up -- keep them up

Great little story I enjoyed reading.

It's good to know that wolves can be domesticated, but I gurss that's how they must have been adopted by humans in the first place, by this very method of finding pups. Just loved this anecdote of a captve wolf pup. Well done, blessings Roy

I enjoyed your story. It was well written, interesting, and sentimental. Very cute side story about the moccasins. The image of the lone wolf is great, but I'd sure like to have seen Wolf himself.

That would be wonderful. I have always felt a kinship with wolves. My office had pictures of them all over:))

I enjoyed your true story, aryr. You recounted it well. I could see everything you wrote. I like that you included how Nat buried the mother and the baby before taking the other little one home. That shows respect the Native Americans had for nature. I'm happy the wolf lived a long life. The art is perfect for your well-chosen words. Your story has good flow, details, and was interesting.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

What a sweet story about this pup becoming part of the family and was much loved by all. How wonderful that he was rescued and had a chance at life, how odd that he knew his left from his right when it came to moccasins! much enjoyed, love Dolly x
