Alie, this is a beautiful story filled with love and humor. We don't have wolves here, we do have wild Dingo protected under native law. The tribe that finally got rights over Fraser Island (K'Gari ) the Dingo is their totem. I don't see a bright future for the wild dogs because the Island is a top tourist spot and dogs and kids are not a good combination. I could go on and on. A child was air-lifted out because a Dingo attacked her yesterday. No doubt they will find the dog and well.... Why don't you tell more stories about your Native American heritage and include naturophy? I try to educate about my indigenous roots. :-) Kxx

Thank you so much for reading, reviewing and your great comments. What a shame the child had to be air-lifted, too bad they couldn't just forbide the tourists from access to the island, let the wild dogs be free. I will considered doing more about my heritage and naturopathy.

I like the humorous tone to this. It is refreshing: "We would entice him outside with a left moccasin-yes, he could tell the difference."
This is a lovely tribute to Wolf. I don't know if I told you, I saw a wolf on my way home at midnight. I saw it running down the hill, crossed my road about 1000 feet in front of me, continued on into another set of wood with a brook trailing through it. It was going slow enough that I could see it's muscular legs. What a thrill.

Wow, that wolf sighting was amazing, Liz. Thank you so much for reading, reviewing and your great comments. I am not sure if you know but I am considered 70% Native American Indian, I didn't find out until I was a teenager but that sure does explain the draw of the native side.

What an interesting and amazing story! How intriguing that he always wanted the left moccasin! You told your story well, and retained the reader's interest right through. They bring a lot of joy.

This is one of those charming one-off animal stories that defy logic and show how unpredictable animals can be.

You have the wrong word here I think.
'As the pup grew, he discovered he had an infinity for the love of moccasins.' I think you mean 'affinity' - a strong feeling for. Infinity means endless.

Hello Alie.

The fact that Nathaniel was able to save the wolf and Wolf never returned to the wild is a great story.

The habit of grabbing only the left moccasin is really funny. Wolf made a value judgment when he looked at moccasins and decided which one was the left one, and then went for it,

It's a great story and you told it well.

Robert

It goes to show that any animal, mammal, etc. that is raised by humans will adapt to those around. If it is treated with love, love it will return. If it is shown harsh treatment it will learn to hate, Alie. This is a very wonderful story. I'm happy you shared it with us.

Aw, that was a lovely story, Alie, and I'd love to hear more about him, It shows you that just because they are a wild animal, if it is brought up by humans, and loved, they can be loving back. I adore stories like this and have seen many on the internet. A bear, even lions and tigers, all had loving relationships with humans. Isn't it just wonderful? I enjoyed this tremendously, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Wow! What a story! Thanks for sharing Alie! How fun that Wolf could tell the left from the right. And he probably had a great sense of direction, too. I wonder if he ever missed being around other wolves. I guess humans were his "pack."

Thank you so much Helen for reading, reviewing and your great comments. I think as he grew older we did indeed become his 'pack', he was super protective. He became friends with other dogs, cats, another pet skunk and all the humans. Hugs.
