I bet that turkey pie tasted wonderful! Yes, our mums made lots of yummy pies and cakes just because... And we all loved her for them. Those were such lovely times, but too long ago now. I bet that turkey pie tasted wonderful! Yes, our mums made lots of yummy pies and cakes just because... And we all loved her for them. Those were such lovely times, but too long ago now. Your poem takes me back about fifty years to the days of home-made pies, both savoury and sweet ones (sometimes even in the same meal if we were really needy. Those meals were sheer bliss.
