I know very little about politics in my own country, never mind the USA, so I am unqualified to comment on what is going on (or down) in the White House. I think the word 'disgruntled' isn't weighty enough to describe your feelings. Nonetheless, I found your poem enjoyable to read and entertaining with your fitting it to the song from the musical (which I will now have to listen to!)

Debra, bless your heart for sticking with me thus far. I'm afraid politics in America is so terrible, it affects every aspect of our lives. It is not something I can just not think about.
First, we - Conservatives - had an election stolen from us by very powerful people and they act like that didn't happen. They have threatened the families of the two Supreme Court Justices we elected, who have caved, along with some others. Then, there's the Swamp - old, very wealthy establishment Republicans who hated Trump because he didn't exclude himself from the law, like they do. I could tell you more so you'd know what's going on here, but I don't want to turn you away. Suffice it to say, America is being sold down the river by a bumbling old fool who's being "run" by several people, ALL OF WHOM ARE SOCIALISTS.
Anyway, thanks for reading my stuff. will try to think of something humorous to post. :)
Katharine - oh, Camelot is a great musical. Let me know what you think if you watch it. In the movie version it starred Richard Harris and Vanessa Redgrave.

A very good adaption! You've covered quite a bit of the ins and outs that are happening in the White House, ARTFULLY. So far what is happening at the border should be an IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE. There are many offenses here but the main one is allowing them to wander around in the various States after they've been tested positive for the Corona Virus. REALLY!

thanks, Ralf. It SHOULD be an impeachable offense - as should all the other dishonest, anti-American, non-partisan ruinous things he's continually doing. It is amazing what some Dems I know DON'T know about what is going on. They watch CNN which, as you know, is about as biased and deviously untruthful as can be.

The biased stations are doing a good job of manipulating interviews etc. I am having the same experience with the Liberals here, family, and friends.
Unbelievable. I've been told by one of my sons to stop watching Fox because it's Fake News. Three sons are Liberal and one in Michigan is GOP.

yes. dishonest Joe puts on a religious show while (pardon) screwing the American people. Trump cares for and HELPED the American people. Do you honestly think Biden has done one good thing for the people of this country? anybody can say a prayer. and the old saying, actions speak louder than words is true. Biden is ruining this country, prayer or no prayer.
But, the song from Camelot. You can you tube Richard Burton singing it. It's pretty neat. Fun to listen to. (sorry, prep)

I no longer believe that it is worth attempting to follow politics. The whole system is so convoluted and is no longer orientated to the common man. We will never be given satisfaction or even a fair deal.

Not with Dems in control, for sure. I can only hope more individual states will rise up and refuse to bow to them. The disgusting, untrue smears they pull on anybody who disagrees with them should be and probably are unlawful.
I have got to hope.

I appreciate your comment about my writing. I don't blame you for not wanting to get into politics. I would rather not, also, but our lives here are being governed by a senile old man who is, himself being manipulated into manipulating and destroying the people he is supposed to serve. I cannot sit quietly by and watch without trying to unite the few of us on this site who feel betrayed and maybe help others to think, to question, to look into things.
We have got to DO something if this push for Socialism is to be stopped.
