"The spark of life gone
The soul broken and battered
Life slipping away"
You have painted a sad picture here of one who has lost all hope. I am glad I know the Lord Jesus Christ and find hope in Him.

I am going to commend your choice of photograph because it looks so much like a human in their winter years. Gorgeous use of language. Indeed, very poetic.

This little poem really captures the sense of "hopelessness." Since it delves more into human nature, I wonder if this would be called a senryu instead of a haiku. But there are other experts here on the haiku.
Something to consider for future brief poems is to consider wording that would not require too many articles like "The" as you have so few syllables in the form.

The artwork you chose for this Haiku is perfect. It does look hopeless and that life is slipping away. Your poem is very emotional. I enjoyed reading. You did a good job writing it.

I like the poem but it is sad as it describes our final season in life. We all must leave what we have known and loved behind. The picture you have selected depicts what I assume to be an ice coated tree in the winter months It appears brittle and lifeless. This adds to the description you have presented in your poem. As this tree is in its winter season with springtime to follow so are we in our final season on earth with new life to follow. Great job!

Unfortunately I have seen the spark of life dim and then slip away. One of the certainties of life - just not one of the pleasant ones. Life event well said with appropriate art!
