Ciao!

This tyke looks really unhappy .. and yes the tears are flowing like water in a cascade.

You used your 6 word allowance well....

one participant wrote that a one line / six words was not a poem .. I disagree.

I don't know anything about babies ,, never held one in my arms or been close to one...

Honestly, I don't get all the hype about expecting one ..

My step brother's ex wife spent a fortune on photographing their two off springs'..Vance and Elise ..the stalks ( biggrin)

their every moment has been captured ..

    Tempeste,

Small children often have uncontrolled tantrums, which leads to torrents of tears. My selected phot gives you a feeling of the child?s sadness.

Thanks, as always, for your review and commentary.

I thought a tantrum was a means a frustrated child uses to con its parents into get its way ...cause it s not happy with its parents requests ...

That why they can turn on and of the water works in a split second.

Sadness is when a child might feel not loved , misses a parent that s away or just feels lonely .. sadness does not alway bring on tears , though..

I have cried on rare occasions I remember crying when my parents left me at my first boarding school ..I was 6 and 1/2 but I only cried after they left because I didn?t want to upset my mother further.

And I was smart enough to know no amount of tears would have helped me avoid boarding school.

And the nuns loved using the straps or a stick or ruler but I never cried

.. it hurt like hell but I wasn?t going to give them the satisfaction of making me cry.

When I was three my mother came to check me out for the first and last time at the unwanted childrens centre where I was whisked the moment I popped out .. my mother didn?t even get to touch me but she did refuse to sign the adoption papers so I was not up for adoption.

She told me that the nuns found me hiding and I started screaming like a slaughtered pig when they tried to drag me to met her.

She never came back until she was financial able to support me when I was 5 and 1/2.

I was always sorry I upset her with my behaviour .. she said all the others children were pulling at her skirt saying mamma .

    Sorry for the rant.

    Keep safe!

This is an excellent poem for the one line contest.
Sadness will often result in tears,
but it is also amazing how quickly children can recover.
Excellent picture.
Best wishes.

    Robert,

Yes, children, especially, are resilient. Pleased you liked the one liner entry and its accompanying photo.

You captured the emotion of sadness for sure. The picture is priceless as it says it all! Sadness is such a devastating emotion and one not easily relayed to others. We cannot imagine the sadness an individual must feel unless we are in their shoes. Great job!

Yes, that picture expresses a thousand words! Empathy more than sympathy is walking in another person?s shoes.
