I enjoyed reading your thoughts. There have been times, frankly, when I find myself bored as well, but since finding Fan Story, I find myself occupied quite nicely. With the coming of summer I'll continue to commercial fish for as long as my body will let me. Unfortunately, the season is short and Alaska has such long winters. I really like the picture that you posted. Very nice.

Nice short story abouth planning for free time. I have lots of ideas for what I could do with my time when I retire. Hopefully, I will act on them.
I know I will still read, write and do jigsaw puzzles. I would also like to travel and volunteer more.
Hopefully your eyesight will fade slowly.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

First, beautiful artwork. It sounds like your neighbor has not reconciled to being retired. She still sees herself behind the desk and needs a shot of imagination.
I found actually, you run out of time to do things once you retire, the day goes by so quickly.

Your writing is an uplifting reminder that retirement is not the end of life. I retired years ago to keep my grandchildren on a full-time basis (no pay, act of love). They, church work, reading and poetry have kept me busy.

I agree with you. I've never been bored since I retired. I did get bored occasionally when I was working because sometimes the work I did was not thought stimulating and was tedious. I don't have enough hours in the day now.

Some people find most of there fulfilment in their job. I have never been like that. =] I have been at my job for 45yrs. I am the longest employed person there. When I started I was the youngest. Time flies and things change so much. I have been thinking of retirement a lot more lately. Glad you keep busy.
