Love the last line! Even with its tortured word order. LOL "I hope my goose I haven't cooked." Great intro poem for your NaPoWri book!

I'm going to go back and read all the rest of your poem chapters.
It comforts me to know that someone out there agrees with ME for a change! :-)
Thank you!
Sue

Well, since you gave me your nickname, mine is Kay (though I've never been fond of it)
It's nice to have someone to agree with me, too! And thank you, but you don't have time to do that!!

An interesting perspective on your desire to write about the current thoughts that you are experiencing at a time that has limited one's ability to live in a social environment, unfettered. The artwork chosen to accompany the piece, along with the title combine well to promote the poem's theme.

What a great poem! I loved what you had to say and the clever way that you said it. I'm still in a state of disbelief when it comes to so many people being willing to give up their freedoms. As Ronald Regan said, one of the scariest things he's ever heard is "Hello, I'm from the government and I'm here to help." Thanks for approaching this situation with humor. As long as we can still laugh, there's hope. Have a great evening.

    thank you so much, Tom!
In between the humor is righteous anger, which I just can't help but spew from time to time. I am so afraid for this country, it really makes me sick to think about it. I have never seen so many unAmerican, evil things being done with not a single conservative vote. Unheard of and unbelievable. And I am so proud of the few governors suing the administration! I just hope Joe Manchin stands strong.
Thank you very much for the lovely 6 and your great comments.

    Hi Katherine,
It's encouraging to know we're not alone in our views. I just wish more people would express them. Blessings!

    I wish, so, too.
What I'd be willing to bet is that lots of Dems really don't know what the present Administration is doing because that's not what the media is telling them, and of course they don't hear Levin and Tucker et al.
To me, what is going on is really unbelievable.

"A poem each day, "off the cuff"
With lots of thoughts, still might be tough
To come up with, quick, for this "book"
I hope my goose I haven't cooked."
You are doing great on this book. I considered getting involved in this contest, but am glad I didn't as I realize how much time and effort is being put into it by those who are participating. I do love reading yours.

thank you, Anne. To tell you the truth, I didn't think about the cost of promoting each day. It's not just the time to write poems ( I could write poems non-stop, it's that I don't have time to critique enough posts each day to pay to stay posted more than two views. This is becoming expensive! It pays to think things through, which I did not.
However... I have to admit, it's fun.
    Thanks again for our response!

You are welcome. That would have been my problem, it takes a lot of reviewing to earn enough to promote a poem. And I feel that if we post something on here, we should at least promote it long enough to at least get it recognized.
reply by the author on 11-Apr-2021
well, you're right, but I love to enter these contests and I write everyday anyway, so I can't promote one high enough for that. I guess I could if I wrote less. Conundrum! :)

Hello!

I really like the premise you have penned in this verse. I've given up writing for months, for a lot of the same ideas. I think it is time to get back on track.

Good luck in the contest.

Self censorship. We all have the same problem. The idiots don't have to censors us. We do it for them!!! We are afraid of offending people. I've decided to offer a weekly anecdote. Censorship will be the topic of the first entry. I wonder though when or if FS will knuckle under to the mob--and so I am afraid of losing something very important to me. Your fan. Jeff

Jeff, I have been spouting my thoughts and opinions on FS for a while, now, and they haven't censored me yet. I am so sick of being told what I can say, do, think, be, or not, that I will take the chance. I am also sick of conservatives(supposedly) who cave.
I hope you will speak out and say what you want to say. Also I don't think FS wants to lose paying customers.
Thank you so much for another lovely 6 and and I hope neither of us gets banned. :)

I like how your thoughts go full circle from the bad that is going on in todays COVID world to where you want your mind and self to be.

I enjoyed the journey.

With all that is happening, here, it's not encouraging - to put it mildly, so hope for things to get better, though always there, looks pretty slim anytime in the near future. Thanks for reading and for your comments.

A good opening poem for your April writes Pome Lover, and I wish you well with the challenge. I agree with you, I think the Pollies and the health exerts are enjoying their power over us, a little too much. Good luck, enjoyed this one,
cheers.

I am so upset with what is going on, I am venting my spleen - as the saying goes - which is evident in chapter one. I cannot believe this is America.
Thanks for reading and for your comments.

I love your theme and I look forward to reading more! This prologue is a great start and an indication of what is to come. With "news" coming from every avenue you should have an abundance of material to choose from.

Great poem with strong sentiments. I work in a nursing home and it seems as though every time we think we're out of the woods, another case or two of: pops up, so I do get that fear that it's not going away or that it's mutating, but I can't say that I'm scared because I'm not. The people that are in control through science know what they're doing and will get rid of this. I have complete faith in you coming up with some thing every single day. It reminds me of me. My husband always asked me if my brain ever stops. I always say no I don't think so! Great writing, as always.

Therese, bless you for that, and I hope you stay safe. I know the people there, in the nursing home are fortunate to have you. If our brain stopped we would have left this earth, so, we keep it going!
My next post is very partial, as am I, so I hope I don't lose you.
Thank you very much for your great comments. They are very much appreciated.
