There are some things that belong to Caesar and some things belong only to God. The wise man can see that the only solution to mankind's problems is God's kingdom. That's where our loyalty belongs. Thank you for highlighting this.

Thank you for seeing that truth, many do not ever see.

Nomi,
This is a very wise and sweet and totally sincere post that we should all take time to pay attention to. Your words are exactly right. My favorite sentence:
--> Provided we do things in God's way.
Thank you, friend!

Dear nomi, Braver and truer words were never said than what you have written in this poem. I just wish most of the people in the world would realize this, but it seems by the record of history, that men who seek power, use patriotism for their own ends.
AND they will continue to do so, until the Lord decides that he has had enough of our foolishness, and comes again.

I totally agree with your assessment. I fear for those who will be on the wrong side of this issue.

You are right of course. Patriotism and religion are two separate things. While we all are children of God, and our allegiance needs to be with him, I think Patriotism is also needed and that defending your country is inevitable. It's the world we live in Sadly. Thank you for sharing this thought provoking poem.

I agree, but you see, people who are adherents to God's laws and suggested behavior make good citizens anyway. So the two are tied together.

Well said and with great conviction Nomi. It's interesting we are on the same page, coming at the truth from different directions. We have all been tricked by the artificial constructs of our unseen and unknown overlords into believing we must fight amongst ourselves, when in truth it is THEM and their agenda of division we should be fighting to overthrow. God is within, in everything, and the sooner we all realise this and say no to their false, demonic hatred, the sooner peace will prevail on Earth, as it is in Heaven. -Blu

The wisdom in your words is overwhelming. You do much to sustain my hope in the future of this world. It is going to take wise people like you to help navigate our way through the confusion that will run rampant in the days ahead. Thank you so much for your wonderful review comments.

Thank you for sharing this religious piece about patriotism. I understand the sentiment, but I question whether any writing, no matter how well crafted, could sway the minds of today's polarized public.

It does not matter how many will be swayed. If out of thousands only one or two are saved, it is worth it. Please remember that during the global flood, only eight persons were saved, and here we are today.

I like the message in this. I agree patriotism is not religion. I would also go so far as to say many people who believe they are patriots are actually xenophobic people who have little interest in anything that doesn't apply to their own lives... Selfish, in other words.
If everyone who celebrates Christmas actually followed the love of Jesus, this country would be in great shape.
Thanks for sharing.

This is a well-stated poem. I like your second line, that God over country is wise. While we should be patriotic citizens, it's important to honor God foremost. Your poem flows well and the rhyme is good, and your message is good as well. Blessings. Carol

Patriotism is a way of life. It is a love for one's nation. In the USA, patriotism is more important that church, because laws must be followed. I enjoyed your commentary. Nice work :)

Yes, but you see, people who love and follow God's instructions and example will be model citizens anyway. Thank you for your comments.

A well conveyed message which clearly sets out your perspective on the important distinction between patriotism and religion. The poem is well composed and presented.
