Hello Nomi,
I haven't spoken to you for quite a while, I hope this review finds you and yours all in good health.
This is a powerful poem, my friend. It really grabs the reader's attention, it did mine. In my opinion and as you have said, God should always come first regardless of the situation. He is our Creator and Jesus is our Savior. There's no competition that should ever take Thier place, even our families, in my opinion.
I have read many of your poems over the years Nomi and I would have to rank this one right up there in the top 5.
Happy Easter to you and yours, my friend...Also, good luck with your books...Bill

You are so right, Nomi, that is why I can't understand why we are always at war with each other. We are all God's children, and like any parent, we should abide by His rules. They are so simple and there is no hardship in following them. You always write such lovely poetry, my friend, this one is inspirational. Warm hugs and love. Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra, I have decided to embark as much as possible on writing as much inspirational pieces as possible. I am still as capable of writing controversial material as I ever was, but I now feel what is the point?

Nomi,
This is a spectacular poem in that, if we take God's side we will live together in happiness. And, as you state, no one country has a monopoly on God.
Wonderful rhyme and inspirational message.
Blessings,
and good luck in the contest,
Cindy

You make a good point here in WW2 there were chaplains of most denominations in the armies of both sides. I say 'most denominations' because I doubt if there were any rabbis in the armies of the Third Reich!

Good day, Nolan. Your poem tells me you are one happy man and I for one appreciate your sharing your thoughts today. My favorite lines are these:
"Man's future is bright, keep the prize in sight.
True happiness can be yours it is worth the fight."
Bless you my friend. Bob

We have such a wide diverse range of people with different beliefs in life and they can all live in the same country and still be patriotic no matter what their religion is. Your poetry always has something profound to say and I enjoyed your rhymes and sentiments here, love Dolly x

Thank you Pam. If I have learned anything at all as a member of this site, it is to pay attention to suggestions from other writers, and to appreciate the fine examples of those writers whom I admire and respect. I count you among those writers.

Yes. I agree that patriotism should not be linked to religion. Unfortunately, around the world, phenomena such as patriotism, nationalism, and illiberalism are gaining ground and some people tend to believe that religious devotion and patriotism are inseparable. Mixing patriotism and religion is dangerous. Much enjoyed your thought-provoking poem. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your comments. At some point, a separation between religion and patriotism has to be made. When the laws of man conflict with the laws of God, You must choose God each time. No matter what.

Hello, my friend,
I think it's a good idea to not mix religion and politics. You did a great job with your poem. Your poem flows well. The structure makes sense. It draws on emotions. it presents strong images..
