Alie,

I really, really want you to post a picture of this whole rig -- all lined up together. I cannot imagine the sight you must be. Like your own little train! My daughter and her husband just bought their first RV - it's about 35 feet, I think, and she keeps talking about how long it is when they're driving, and I just keep thinking about you and your big old long rig. hahahahha

Note:
1.) that I could send it back that they did have a (full) warranty.

Thanks!

A familiar sounding adventure! You have a big rig. Is the camper a fifth wheel? Our first trip was to BC via the US because gas was cheaper and the trip a little shorter. We only had a campervan at that time, with a trailer behind us containing our motorcycle. We stopped in Bismark at, I think, a KOA. It was May, but there was snow on the ground when we woke up in the morning.

Safe travels to you. I have to go back to read more.

Judy

Thank you so much for reading, reviewing and your great comments. We have a converted semi that pulls our 46 foot fifth wheel and our smart car. Yep there is a KOA in Bismarck.

Oh wasn't life so much easier before they started putting computers into cars. I have had ECM problems with several cars. What used to be solvable with a squirt of grease or a twist of a screw now needs a new ECM. The damn things are sealed for life but their life is too short. I can see the lawyers beginning to rub their hands with glee.

There were one or two little hiccups in this interesting write. Perhaps your own ECM was playing up a bit. Most of them seemed to be in the early parts before your engine got warmed up.

'Regardless it is always an...' - And there it ends. I think something has been accidentally deleted. (Definitely an ECM problem. Lol)

'We literally limped into the park, our power source in the truck would de-accelerate then come back on.' - Be very wary of that word 'literally' it is inappropriate here as limping is a human problem, not an automotive one. Leave literally out and there is nothing wrong - Your powere source is, presumably your engine so why not say so? 'De-accelerate - In UK we would say decelerate but this could be cultural. I might have said: 'We limped into the park as the truck's engine kept cutting out intermittently.'

'...he said he did, it he had he would have noticed...' - should be 'if he had'

'...since that our domicile, our bank were there.' - Delete 'that' and insert 'and' after the comma.

From then on your ECM worked faultlessly. i know you will repair these intermittent lapses so I will give you five satars for this anyway.

It's good to hear from you. Alie. :) Down here it has been beautiful and warm one day, the next day cloudy and cold, the next day foggy and wet then beautiful, but yesterday I thought we had a tornado close by the wind was nearly uprooting the trees, my 12 by 20 tent almost flew and me with it. Today it's beautiful. I wish the weather would make up its mind. :) Hope you and Jim are doing fine. Take care of yourselves on your journeys.

Thank you so much Jose for reading, reviewing and your great comments. Wow, you are living in a tent, goodness gracious how brave you are. Jim and I are fine, a little testy last night- winds gusts up to 90, constant winds at 45 to 50 and sand blowing everywhere. We had 10 trainees here some of which had never been RVers at all, whew.

So glad that you posted to let us know what's been happening since your last "Mud" post! So if you don't turn off the water, it might freeze? Thanks for sharing your adventure. Hope the company who sold you the faulty ECM will be honest and refund you! Tell them you're a writer with fans who follow you.

it he had he would have noticed a loose wire. (I think this is a new sentence and should start with "If" not "it")

the truck continued to do it's thing. (its)

Thank you so much Helen for reading, reviewing and your great comments and suggestions which I will fix in a moment. Because we have a heated hose there is little chance of the water freezing, it is the others that I worry about. Mmm I could always try the idea of being a writer with fans. Nope not really.

I admire your tenacity to travel about permanently and I wonder if you have a permanent home anywhere? It must be amazing to see all the different states and I reckon you could write a book about your travels? Cars sometimes break down and I would get a bit stressed about that, but you seems to take it all in your stride. I love being home and I have travelled for a few months and was always glad to get home. Thanks fo sharing your travel experience with us, love Dolly x

Thank you so much Dolly for reading, reviewing and your great comments. To answer your questions-no we do not have a permanent home, we gave that up in 2013; I guess that is why I started my 'unblog' lol; generally the truck which is really a converted semi is reliable, but when it needs parts they are pricey parts. Again thanks.

I enjoy reading about people who live the RV life. This story was obviously about the unglamorous side of it. What happens when something mechanical goes wrong and you have to spend a lot of money to fix it. I'd be interested to hear about some of the places you've seen. I'll have to check out some of your other posts.

Cheers.

Wow, you must be very determined to go on with this trips despite all the malfunctions with the RV. I liked this sentence:"We literally limped into the park, our power source in the truck would de-accelerate then come back on" Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Thank you so much Iza for reading, reviewing and your great comments. I guess when it becomes one's life style one has to become determined, besides it is Jim's income lol.
