I can't want until I read all the rest, I might have rated Roy higher. I'll see and see what you've done. I know they'll all be wonderful. This is a great idea. You have me hooked. I am impatiently waiting for more. LOL Thank you for such an original idea.

Thank you very much for the wonderful review and kind comments. I think you'll like them all as you are around my age. If not, that's OK but I'm so glad you like the first one. :))

A lovely tribute to a great singer/musician. Not just warm memories, but accurate facts. Let's the reader experience what the author felt, not just during the read, but during the years of listening.

This piece is excellent in every respect--creatively and descriptively written. You introduced your topic by giving your background as a classic rock lover, then focused on one particular singer, his accomplishments,
and reputation. I would add "Pretty Paper" to the list. I loved it, though it made me squall every time!

Roy Orbison has pride of place in my books and I just loved his voice. He was a bit before my time and my husband was older than me and adored him, I have all his albums, I loved your dedication to the juke box hits here Sally, love Dolly x

What a fun and creative idea! How in the world did you figure out 50 great and put them in order? I don't know if I could even do that. I like the little history lesson on Roy Orbison, too! What tragedies did he face in his life?

Thank you very much for the wonderful review and kind compliments. Roy Orbison lost first wife in a motorcycle accident. She died in his arms. I still think many of the songs reflected his love for her. He did remarry another woman which he loved very much too, and was able to have a wonderful life after that.

Awww... that is so sad. It's hard enough to find a compatible mate, but when you lose them like that? Damn. Thanks for answering. Hugs.

I agree with you about Roy Orbison, he had a tragic life, and he died so young, like Michael Jackson, who lived a life of unreality, who knows what a "normal" life would lead to. Paul McCartney said of himself, "one has got to remember, I'm a normal person in an extraordinary situation" he keeps his feet on the ground, but that's people from my home town of Liverpool. Well done Sally, blessings Roy

This is an excellent look back into that musical past. I enjoyed this post very much because it touched great memories...oh, the first Cd I bought! I held it in my arms for about one hour, touching it, smelling it...wondering if it could break at any minute, so fragile...This was a great post to read today.

I love this idea, Sally, and I will sing along with all of your juke box tunes, I'm sure! We just re-watched Rocketman the other night. He sure did have a terrible personal life for so many years. It's nice to see him so happy these days.

He was a favorite of mine, too. No mistaking that marvelous voice, and he made it look so easy. No grimacing and gyrations. He simply stood and let that amazing voice flow. Thanks for sharing this!
