Hi Mary,
I enjoyed your story very much. Your poor husband was just trying to right the wrongs, and just show you a little affection in public. He's the same as me. I'm a very private person. And I can just imagine how awkward it was for him to show his feelings in front of strangers. But then to have his chair break! He must have been mortified.
This was a terrific entry for the True Story Flash contest. Well done!

He's a keeper!
I'm married to one of those too. No PDA. However, he is always surprising me with gifts and interesting outings; there's no one more loyal and dedicated. I have never once doubted his love.
