As always, you painted another lovely picture with your pen. You chose your words well and the artwork is perfect for this little poem. This has me thinking of the oncoming season. Very well done.

I love the metaphor. Here are the budding leaves on recon, scoping out the territory. Is it safe to bring up the troops? And it really is like an onslaught when all the leaves unfurl and show their lushness in May. (At least it's May where I live.)

Although we watch for the flowers, the buds on the trees do take precedence. The beautiful shade of green soon appears and lifts our spirits as they burst into leaves.

I enjoyed your contest entry/ We are seeing that first greenery right now. Good job with your syllable count per line. The image is perfect. I like the Springy color scheme. Your words create great imagery. Best wishes.

Yes, is there a more beautiful sight than the buds opening on the trees in Spring ? Hope is born in our hearts when we catch a glimpse of this precious sight

This is a nicely written poem for trees in spring. Great photo choice to go with your words as well . Leaves just budding. The first green . Very well done. Good luck in the contest.

This made me smile and of course spring is an apt name as foliage starts springing up and nothing stops their growth as the garden is taken over, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

You have made effective use of your seventeen syllables in this lovely poem about spring bursting out, beginning with a few shy blooms. "Onslaught" is a fitting word choice.
