I found the use of the word heraldry in this poem interesting. Every so often the difference between different Englishes is brought home to me. Usually through work, but occasionally as now on this site. Coming from England with our quaint English, pomp would be the more usual choice, or ceremony to shock.

Yes - we are all more than ready for winter to depart - and there are signs that spring is waiting in the wings. These red berries are evidence. Great entry for the contest.

Yes, they are like the royal robes of a king, marching out in splendour, having vanquished the enemy of winter. Very creative, and a lovely image to accompany. Best wishes for the contest.

The cold of winter melts away and spring brings a new beginning. You have said it beautifully in a few words. And with feelings. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest!

Love this short poem and picture. It's seeing things like this that show us that spring really will come soon, it gives us hope. I personally can't wait. Great contest entry, best of luck to you. :)

You have made excellent use of your six words in this very timely piece. I don't remember a year when people yearned for spring more than they do this year. Good use of personification
