Hi Raul1, I enjoyed reading your poem because it tells of how you kept working on things in your life until you were successful. You said, "Things weren't easy for me," but here you are writing poetry and entering and sometimes winning contests, along with hundreds of other poets. Plus, people are reading your work. I loved the subject matter
and the way your thought process flowed. The only place that I got caught up is in the description of how you "did" your food. Perhaps a words such as prepared or bought and cooked would have made for an easier transition. This is only my opinion. I think you did a great job. Good luck in the contest!

A very good look at how much children depend on their parents, but the greatest thing a parent can teach a child is to become independent. We raise them to let them go.
