'It taps the panes and beckons me.' What a great image. I really enjoyed this poem for how the images it creates make me feel. I smell fresh spring grass wet with rain. Nice work.

Lovely poem and artwork, I never read a Kyrielle before, so I read through the prompt.
You have followed it very well and I love the repeated line it works well throughout the poem.
Very descriptive words that paint a lovely picture.

What a lovely little poem. This wonderful poem made me smile widely. Living in the Los Angeles area, a recovered desert really. Rain in spring time or any other time mostly, is rare, I enjoy it, largely because I hardly ever see it. Sadly my children were robbed of an experience like the one noted in this delightful poem.

That was lovely. I enjoy the rain on warm summer days but hate it in the winter. It's fun to go out and feel the freshness on the skin, especially when we're having a heatwave. (rare in England!) Well done, I enjoyed reading your poem. Good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Summer rain in Chicago is usually two extremes?either too much (which causes flooding) or too little (weeks without any). Many thanks, Sandra, for sharing my Kyrielle and your kind praise.

The freshness and joyful appreciation of summer rains are very appealing. There is vigour and energy about your poem which is delightful. Good wishes for the contest.

Yes! I think a lot of people, not only children, will be able to relate to this. After all, who can resist stomping in a puddle when they have on galoshes? Not I.
Attractive rhymes and a good rhythm. Well done. Hugs and blessings to you.

I wonder if that child-like urge to stomp in puddles ever leaves us. I am delighted you enjoyed my Kyrielle and appreciate the praise.

I love the kyrielle, especially those with an extra good repeat line. Your kyrielle is excellent in all respects--skillfully composed, delightful, and vividly descriptive of a lively time out in the rain.

A sweet and cheerful poem! When you're a child, rain seems awesome, but then as you grow older, you sometimes start to dread it. I really enjoyed your fun poem.

I am so pleased you enjoyed my poem. I have always enjoyed rain and find it very soothing (unless it?s a downpour and flooding?s likely). Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed reading your very upbeat poem. I guess it is aimed at children as repetition works so well in childrens poems.
I wish you lots of luck in the competition. Best wishes. Jen

Thank you, Jen, for sharing my poem and your best wishes. I was inspired to write this Kyrielle after watching my 10-year-old granddaughter playing in the rain last summer.

A-h-h such an enjoyable read - an enchanting moment in childhood captured here in this Kyrielle through the eyes of a child revelling in and enjoying the summer rain
