A simple, well stated one line poem. The title, image, and text in the body of the piece work well in conjunction with one another to convey the message of daybreak. Good job.

I enjoyed this one-line poem. As it is said, it may be the rooster that does all the crowing but it's the hen that delivers the goods. The darkness is removed by the sun, not the rooster's crowing.!:):) Just a few funny thoughts. Good luck in the contest!

The proud, strutting rooster is always the first to greet the morn and then, with his loud crowing, he demands that we all come and see the glorious morning sun. Beautiful! Smiles - Carol

Such a fun poem! We do need that old-fashioned alarm clock. Actually, the ones in the neighborhood tend to crow whenever they want all day long. Lol. Loved your "heralding the glorious break of day!"
Best wishes in the contest!

Your energetic one line poem brings back some good memories of when I lived in Puerto Rico with my Air Force family. We lived off-base and our neighbors had chickens and I actually enjoyed the rooster's morning call. (They also had peacocks and that is another matter entirely--they're great to look at; not so much to hear.) LOL Thanks for the super music inclusions, too, Sally! xo Janet

Thank you very much for the lovely review and kind compliments. I'm always glad when people share their personal stories. This sounds very interesting. I adore peacocks. We have them in our neighborhood that run wild. I have written several poems this year about our peacocks. Sending along way very best for the day,
Sally XOs...
Comment from Gloria ....
Very nicely done, Sally. The rooster likes to announce to the world it is time to be getting got up because there are fields to plow, and seeds to plant.
Wishing you great luck with the Committee. :)

Thank you for the lovely review, dear Gloria. I modified this after our dear Dorothy told me it needed to be (all) in one line. She's right. I did my best to revise it for one line here. :))
I appreciate your kind encouragement.
Sending you my best today as always,

Sally,
This is a wonderful one line poem.
You describe a rooster's awakening sound in just one line, eleven words. I like the photo of the rooster with a background that is like the color of the sun.
Excellent one line poem, Sally.
Good luck in the contest.
Blessings. Hugs,
Cindy
