That is so true with many things we look at. Ancient carvings are sold for fortunes, everyone wants this old antiquated thing, yet a person in old age is looked upon as something that is tired and worn. There is so much more that that old lady, there is life written all over her face. Life that we probably will never know or understand. I'll be looking at the elderly a lot differently from now on. I'll make a start by looking in the mirror!!! LOL. Well done, Sally, this is a wonderful Haibun poem for the contest. Good luck! :)) Sandra xxx

This picture Is one to make your whole day brighter. Maybe she wouldn't seem beautiful to most but with a smile like that you just know you're whole day is going to be better. She has her own special beauty I enjoyed reading what you wrote.

How we need to look below the surface. True beauty comes from within.
I like your comparison to the senior lady and the bench. Both have grown more valued and precious over time. This is a good reminder to us all.
