Hi Frank,
Such a truly lovely poem to your wife of many years! Elegant and heartfelt, it made me see the image of her in the forest, letting flow her shining auburn hair for you to gaze upon in life or in death. A love so strong, time can never break.
Perfectly written in a rhythmical free verse which worked so well.

Thank you Senyai for your insightful review and rating for this poem as well as for "The Wind Dropped a Question". Sometimes I get reviews that just don't quite get what I was trying to convey but you discerned this one perfectly. I am truly honored by the fact that you reviewed it in spite of it not paying anything. Thank you so much, you made my day!

A piece written for the love of a partner, a spouse. It feels like a painting that pulls you in and then leads you through a life of love with only happiness for having had it on the other side.

This is a beautiful expression of love. It reminded me of when my father was living with me in his old age and he told me how he met Mum and adored the sunshine in her auburn hair. They were married for 31 years but she died when she was 52 - he'd been a widower since age 59 and was in his 80's when he told me the story and was slipping into Alzheimer's Disease, but he remembered her auburn hair so vividly. No doubt you'll be the same (though hopefully spared from Alzheimers).

Thank you for your excellent review and rating. Thank you also for sharing your thoughts about your father. I am currently 57 years old, I guess these thoughts and emotions come to us at or around this age but those are the memories that last.

"to my sleep" do you mean from? Or awaken to a dream? The antonym is tripping me up. Good presentation. Romantic poem for sure. Nice visuals. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your review Vanna. I was referring to my time of death. In the Bible there are 36 reference to death as merely sleeping, and as a Christian myself, that is the way I think of death - just awakening to another reality, thus awakening to my sleep, or death. Also, I just thought it more poetic than saying; if I should die, or croak, or kick the bucket. LOL
